Ale of the IMP is very impressive. Very very bitter. It is a bitter dream for fans of very bitter beers. This beer would fair very very well in a blind tasting. That being said, all you crazy hop heads out there run and get some of this beer. Buy at least two bottles. A note to the brewer. Fantastic job!! Could please make a hoppy hefe for me? Aroma is as good as it gets.

Ack. Not much to say here. Aroma and taste have weak hops notes, no real balance, no citrus, no pine, no anything worth remembering.

0.5l - Nose of yeast. Seltzer feel and chalky but pleasant bitter finish remind me of a Belgian.

Amber pour with very little head. Nose of buttered bread, herbal hops, and spices. Flavors of cracker and bread with a decent hop bite.

A pretty spicy imperial ipa. Had a very big bite to it. Feel like the malts could have been a bit more smoothed out. I did like the hopping. Felt really raw and classic.

Pint (+) bottle from Hayduke. We enjoyed it together via facebook chat. Ron’s brother Rick joined in late and was hilarious. This beer pours hazy and ginger color with a big fluffy head that is light tan. A darker blob of foam formed and stayed until the last sip. The aroma is big citrus and caramel. The first sip is caramel sweetness but that soon changes to huge citrus bitterness. That bitterness grabs you by the throat and does not let go. Each sip is like this and the bitterness actually builds. Grapefruit tart citrus that is bitter as can be. This IIPA comes right at you and stays in your face. There is nothing subtle or really complex here. If there is complexity the bitterness hides it. Good stuff.

500 ml bottle: Pours a clear orange amber with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny piny hop nose with some light malty sweetness. Starts with pretty good fullness and lightly toasted caramel sweetness with a clean balance of resiny bittersweet hops. Finishes with some lingering bittersweetness. A pretty good double IPA.
