Craft brewed in small batches with tons of hops. This will make you silly with hOppiness, like the jester on the bottle. The hop types remain a secret, but wouldnít you expect that from a hermit?

Found at Kenwood Homer Glen with a $3.50 Sale tag. Okay, why not. Slight bit of skunk right under the cap, changing to a hoppy smell as foam peeks over the edge. Kicks up a lot of foam, even refrigerated. Smell is mostly citrusy with some pine, maybe a tropical fruit kick of Nelson Sauvin. Still plenty of foam in my IPA tulip. Looks cloudy and orangey under that big head, which settles down into some kind of fire extinguisher foam. Taste is back to strong malt and citrus, with a backbone of mucho hop bitterness. Kind of nice in a hophead sense, but way overly bitter. I feel like thereís no reward for finishing this.

Bottle. Musky. Dirty copper tone with an average top. This has a distinctly spicy character, very meaty. Has a much more continental hop character than one might expect from a California IIPA. (#6037, 9/24/2015)

Bottle - hazy gold with sparse white head. Hoppy, resinous, juicy aroma. Similar in the taste, orange, grapefruit, resin, tropical fruit. Medium body, oily-ish mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Long bitter finish. Good stuff.

500 ml bottle. Hazy burnt orange, dense off white head, sticky lace.
Aroma is all hops, dank, floral, tropical.
Flavor is much like the aroma, all hops. Pine, floral, grapefruit. A little malt sweetness mid-palate tries to keep it balanced, but itís mostly one sided. Body is a little thin.

Crazy hoppy beer. Orange clear pour from bottle at home. White head. Ripe tropical fruit flavor. Vanilla, orange, grapefruit, pine, and just a huge taste to it. Good.

Bottle at Mellow Mushroom. Pours a golden copper with a thin white head. The aromas are grapefruit, citrus, musk. The mouthfeel is dry and bitter with a medium body and good carbonation. Cheers!

Earl of Essex. Keg. Mild haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mild fine carbonation. Quite thin for the abv. Semi dry malts, some bitterish floralness. Tangy dried fruits. Light semi dry finish. For a DIPA this is pretty non deScript, no thrust to what little hop there is. No off flavours though.

500ml bottle, pours golden brown with a white head. Nice hoppy aroma, piney and citrus, grapefruit and, most prominent, lemon with peppery spiciness. Light to medium body, texture is resiny and oily, with soft but lasting carbonation. Finish is bitter.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy, pale amber. Film of sticky, white head. Fusty stuff, this. Mandarin. Peach stone. Thereís some plum type fruit to it. Some pine. Sweet, grainy malts at the back. Taste is full on, piny bitter. Palate is oily, and carbonation is soft. Finishesostly big, long bitter, with a little sweetness on the lips. Slightly weird Toilet Duck thing going on, but I didnít mind this.

Bottle from hop hideout, sheffield. Slightly Hazy orange with not much head. Aroma is strong dry grain, grapefruit and hay. Taste is very bitter. Prickly with alcohol warmth. Didnít really enjoy it.

"Hmmm. Thereís a reason this was on sale. Mostly misses from this brewer, but Iím all for second (or 9th) chances. This one may have been around for a bit too long, but who knows. No bottle date. The sweetish malts play a more dominant role than i;d prefer with some grapefruit like bitterness and a decent flavor, but a pretty lacklustwer aroma for any kind of ipa, double or not."
