COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Citra is the most well received in our series of Single Hop beers. After taking Gold in 2011 and 2012 at the California Craft Brew Competition, and due to its high demand with our consumers, we decided to make this a year-round style. This IPA pours a dark amber in color with an off-white head. The hop aroma is floral, with citrus notes, while the malts have a toasted barley character with some caramel. CitraĎs hop flavor is resiny, with some citrus quality that is offset by toasty malt flavors with a touch of caramel. This is a moderately full bodied beer, with a bright carbonation, and a dry finish.

It poured a hazy amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of floral and citrus hops. The taste was of pine and citrus hops, esters, and a little bit of malt sweetness. A very good IPA.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy reddish-orange amber color. Large, rocky off white pour. Aroma of strong lemon and tropical fruit notes. Bits of sugar cookie and oxidation. Flavor is fruity and bitter. Lots of tropical fruit notes. Mild sweet malt. Nice carbonation. Finishes long and bitter.

This isnít quite the Citrus bomb that you would expect from a Citra hopped beer, In fact, the bitterness is more dominant; not that thatís a bad thing. There is a nice peachy middle taste that blends with a malt combo that reminds me of the malts used in Founders I.P.As.. Speaking of Founders, I prefer the Centennial single hop I.P.A to this one but I would definitely buy this again.

Aroma is citrus-orange, tropical fruit and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is citrus, lemons, malts and a long and very dry/mildly tangy finish.

Bomber. Dark copper in hue with a robust beige head. Nice lacing remains. A big citrus aroma with bready caramel. A really big citrus hop flavor. It is tart and biting. Not so much bitter as expected. Grapefruit and some fairly big malts. The hop profile takes this close to Double territory. The Citra hop stands up just fine by itself but this is becoming over done. Still, this is tasty and a nice showcase for the hop.

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) deep copper, soapy white bubbles. Nose of honey, light citrus bitterness, funky, cream, smells nice. Taste of simcoe even though itís not, lemon, grapefruit, honey. Like it cause it tends towards sweet. Oily body.

Nice deep copper coloured body with an amber glow and a thick, three centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking, especially for an IPA. Aroma of bright grassy and herbal hops with a bit of sugars, some caramel and a bunch of malt noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and herbal hoppiness up front that fades fairly quickly and just shows malt, caramel, cardboard and a bit of light earth at the end. Aftertaste is fairly simple with only malt and a touch of grassy and earthy hops noticeable. Overall, not such a great beer, Iíve had other single hop citra productions that were much better in showcasing the hops, but this one is a bit flat, one dimensional and doesnít show enough of the hops to really get through. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo! in San Bruno, California on 05-March-2012 for US$3.99 sampled at home in Washington before heading back out to California in a few hours, on 30-April-2012.
