COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Citra is the most well received in our series of Single Hop beers. After taking Gold in 2011 and 2012 at the California Craft Brew Competition, and due to its high demand with our consumers, we decided to make this a year-round style. This IPA pours a dark amber in color with an off-white head. The hop aroma is floral, with citrus notes, while the malts have a toasted barley character with some caramel. Citra‘s hop flavor is resiny, with some citrus quality that is offset by toasty malt flavors with a touch of caramel. This is a moderately full bodied beer, with a bright carbonation, and a dry finish.

Bomber. Dark copper in hue with a robust beige head. Nice lacing remains. A big citrus aroma with bready caramel. A really big citrus hop flavor. It is tart and biting. Not so much bitter as expected. Grapefruit and some fairly big malts. The hop profile takes this close to Double territory. The Citra hop stands up just fine by itself but this is becoming over done. Still, this is tasty and a nice showcase for the hop.

Tasting sampler at Beer Zen party, Osaka. Definitely the most complex and potent of the four sampled, a big floral aroma led by strong peach, very dusty and fresh. The flavour produces tropical notes, lychee, showcases the hop well. It’s backed by an earthy malt and strong bitterness, lively on the palate.

Poured from the bomber its a cloudy dark orange. Taste is citrus, juicy, spicy, and dry at the end. I walked the gauntlet of citras that have come out lately and this one is really good, just at the 7% mark I look for.

Draft. Solid citrus aroma hop and flavor. Decently fruity. Nice mid-bitter hop presence. Medium carbonation and body.

Bottle, Brewdog Leicester. Golden brown with an off white foam. Multigrain and toffee with oranges and tropical fruit, particularly mango. Brown sugar with herbal and grassy notes. Sweet and jammy apricot with marmalade. Earthy with peppery alcohol. Good.

thought this’d be my favorite. Maybe it was older a Citra hops are usually bold, but while this was very citrus forward it was more understated and mellow.

650ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma notes of lemon tea, caramel malty basis. Taste is dry, grassy hoppy, minimally chalky and mineral, notes of lemon tea, lemon zest, malty basis without residual sweetness.

Bottle shared by Ben, thanks! Pours a clear golden orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with a decent amount of sweet grains and a touch of caramel. Flavor is citrus forward with a sweet grains backbone and some additional sweetness from caramel.

Bottle, pours hazy gold with a white head. Orange and pine over caramel malt, good balance with a moderate bitter finish. Creamyish texture and soft carbonation. It’s tasty but the hops could have a bit more punch.
