4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ibrew2or3 (5823) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Bomber pours clear copper with off white head. The aroma offers up full array of pleasing spicy hoppiness and then it gets sort of bitter resiny like spicy hops as well as earthy hops. Yum. The taste is very much the same with rich chewy spicy hops with faint murmurs of sweet malts that try to temper the hops for a short time. To midway, as the tiny bit of sweet maltiness fades away, the spicy hops pick up a growing bitter resiny sensation and at times I get notes of earthy hops, manure, hay and black tea. I am digging this in a big way. This is the spicy hoppy goodness I’m after.

Love this experiment! Pours amber with thin white head. Has a flavor similar to their Tres Vieux IPA. Not a dank and cannabis like hop nose, but more of a dry, chalky hop character. Pretty damn good, and evidently very fresh!

Bomber poured a hazy orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, earthiness and pine with a crisp dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 Rating this is kind of weird since it’s a showcase for a single hop, but this one works pretty well anyway. Oily, earthy aromas coming off this slightly hazy light amber beer with an initially fluffy and then persistent off white head. Strong herbaceous and grapefruit hop flavor with a little rubber mat (like Simcoe) and grassy components in the background. Leaves a dry and quite bitter (like castor oil) residue on the tongue. The malt is a good palette for the hop here and lets it shine through without getting in the way. A nice beer overall and I really like the single hop concept (which seems to be getting popular these days).

Oh this is delicious. Pours kinda brownish orange. Smells like delicious hops and malts. Actually a very balanced flavor. Some brown sugar and dates with some nice orange and pine needle flavors.

decent brew, nice and bitter, some lighter fruit notes coming through. looks like the others. its slightly less smokey than the amarillo, but not as tasty as the citra. still a really fun thing to see around, i always love single hope series ales.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a thick tan head. Amazing grapefruit aroma with a strong dose of hops. Strong taste. Dry and tangy with some grapefruit. Lots of hops and a hint of alcohol. Very good balance and a solid brew.

22oz bomber from BevMo. Pours dark amber with a rich off-white head and a strong citrus aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor that is overcome by an avalanche of slightly harsh citrus and pine. Perhaps a hophead’s delight, but a bit much for me. Nevertheless, a good brew for its style.

Beautiful bright, cloudy amber body with a medium to big off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, pine, floral notes, some citrus, maybe a little bit of funk. Medium body, a lot of carbonation that quickly dissolves. Grassy and citrus hop flavor, pale malt.

A really nice IPA. I enjoy the series gives a good example of what each hop is. Pours big and bright and orange. Great taste well made. Aftertaste is a little harsh
