3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thanks Baker! Deep glowing orange with a spitty dense white head. Smells of lemon, burnt sugar, citrus, earth, peach, light butter. Flavor is slightly malty, watery, light citrus and finishes very bitter and ashy.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo in Natomas. Wow, the aroma on this is intense. Lots of mango, passionfruit, apricot, and pine needles. Wow. Is this 100% Citra? If so, I may have a new favorite hop. This isn’t too far off from Sculpin’s aroma. There is a light underlying malt sweetness. Transparent copper body with a smallish off-yellow head. Darker than I would expect. Starts with big piney flavors, before this gets a little peachy. The middle has some tannins and a chewy, roasted, almost burnt characteristic. Finishes with a good deal of bitterness that is more in the grapefruit and pine mold. Not a huge fan of the grain bill in this, but the hops are out-freaking-standing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy orange-red with white head, aroma has notes of tangerine, grapefruit, some lemon, slight pine and bready malt. Taste is full of piny and citrus filled hop oils, with notes of bready malt driving the sweetness aspect, finishing slightly bitter but not overly so, lots of nice hop notes throughout. Thanks baker!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from BevMo Arden. Pours copper with a rich beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a decent caramel malt base with an extreme piny hop bitterness. Not well-balanced, but pretty drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazy, orange hued body with a small and fading off-white head. Some lace left behind, but not much. Aromas are tropical fruit, lightly herbal hop qualities, a bit of rotten orange (not how Citra normally is for me). A bit of a urine quality. Estery. Malt profile comes across as a bit sticky, caramel and toffee like. Flavors are pappery, grainy, bitter, medium astringency. Malt seems slightly oxidized, but the hops are still there (hot side aeration? crappy malt (heard that a recent batch of Canadian 2-row is off)). Hops are kind of faint, fruity. Bitter balance. Dry, earthy, soil, metallic quality. Lively bubbles, dry. Soapy. I don’t know why I keep buying from theses guys.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from BevMo Sunnyvale. Man, everyone and their mother is brewing a Citra IPA these days. Especially their mothers. Mama Tick brews a DISGUSTING one...and I mean "disgusting" in the way that means "awesome!" Pours a clear reddish-amber color with a one-finger off-white head that has average retention. Very nice aroma, earthy, resinous, and citrusy, with a caramel malt background and light toast. The flavor has a substantial caramel malt base and a good hoppiness to it. Average malt and hop balance. Fairly resinous with lots of grapefruit. High bitterness level. Medium-plus bodied with loads of hop resins and average carbonation. A surprisingly righteous Citra IPA. Actually becomes a little brutal to drink much of though, so I have to mark it down a touch there.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on 4/23/2011. This IPA pours a medium to dark orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy and grapefruity, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Clean and crisp. Medium bitterness. Nicely balance. A touch of lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle from BevMo, pours light amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is dank as hell, grassy aromas very skunky in a good way. Flavor is more straight forward toast and light nutty malts with a good kick of skunky hops with citrus lingering in the finish. Another good one, but my favorite was the Amarillo.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served from a 22 oz bottle from BevMo. The appearance is a good looking golden brown with a good sized off white to cream head. The aromas are very citrus with the hop profile. A clean orange comes through nice with a good pale malt underbelly. The flavors enter with a good orange hop flavor, good malt base but a definite metallic taste. The orange reminds me of an orange drink orange or something slightly artificial but not in a terrible way. The malts are nicely done for the hop. Medium to full bodied and not overly bitter which makes sense for the citra hop. Overall some potential but once again with this brewery, metallic flavors are very present and destructive. I will wait before I buy anything bottle from these guys again but they have some potential.
