Citra is the most well received in our series of Single Hop beers. After taking Gold in 2011 and 2012 at the California Craft Brew Competition, and due to its high demand with our consumers, we decided to make this a year-round style. This IPA pours a dark amber in color with an off-white head. The hop aroma is floral, with citrus notes, while the malts have a toasted barley character with some caramel. Citra‘s hop flavor is resiny, with some citrus quality that is offset by toasty malt flavors with a touch of caramel. This is a moderately full bodied beer, with a bright carbonation, and a dry finish.

Golden-orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is rough piney/weedy/citrusy hops and a little malt. Flavor is sweet pale/caramel malt with earth, weed, and citrusy hops. Pretty nice balance. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate

Thanks turd for sharing. Pours cloudy reddish orange with one finger of sticy sandstone head. Nose is malty with a piny hop character and resinous oily character. Flavor is oily with a piney character, more body than I’d like.

A really nice IPA. I enjoy the series gives a good example of what each hop is. Pours big and bright and orange. Great taste well made. Aftertaste is a little harsh

22 oz. bottle from BevMo - Pours a hazy amber color with a thin off white head. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is floral and citrus hops. Flavor is pine and citrus hops, esters, and a little bit of malt sweetness. Finish is somewhat bitter and dry. Light to medium body. A nice IPA.

22oz bottle...thanks Tim! Poured an amber color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of citrus, some earthiness, and some rinds. Tastes of citrus with some light caramel.

650ml bottle from bevmo. Pours a translucent copper color with a small off-white head that slowly recedes to a fine film. The aroma is pungent with fresh hops that evoke grapefruit, oranges and some green chlorophyll. The taste is overtly bitter and follows the nose with good citrus character set in a caramel malt backdrop. The palate is uneven and starts thin, the carbonation is lively and prickly. Finishes long and harsh. Overall: Good, but ruined by a harsh finish that I found distracting.

Bottle. Thanks Baker! Deep glowing orange with a spitty dense white head. Smells of lemon, burnt sugar, citrus, earth, peach, light butter. Flavor is slightly malty, watery, light citrus and finishes very bitter and ashy.

22 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo in Natomas. Wow, the aroma on this is intense. Lots of mango, passionfruit, apricot, and pine needles. Wow. Is this 100% Citra? If so, I may have a new favorite hop. This isn’t too far off from Sculpin’s aroma. There is a light underlying malt sweetness. Transparent copper body with a smallish off-yellow head. Darker than I would expect. Starts with big piney flavors, before this gets a little peachy. The middle has some tannins and a chewy, roasted, almost burnt characteristic. Finishes with a good deal of bitterness that is more in the grapefruit and pine mold. Not a huge fan of the grain bill in this, but the hops are out-freaking-standing.

Pours hazy orange-red with white head, aroma has notes of tangerine, grapefruit, some lemon, slight pine and bready malt. Taste is full of piny and citrus filled hop oils, with notes of bready malt driving the sweetness aspect, finishing slightly bitter but not overly so, lots of nice hop notes throughout. Thanks baker!

Bottle from BevMo Arden. Pours copper with a rich beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a decent caramel malt base with an extreme piny hop bitterness. Not well-balanced, but pretty drinkable.
