Bottle a SMÖF 2012. Dark brown beer with a lacy offwhite head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with anice sweetness. Fruity, hoppy flavour. Nice beer :-)

Bottle from a friend. Some hops on the nose, cat pee and stomach acid, reminds me of Simcoe. Fairly mild smell, some hops with a roasted finish. I think this could be a bit old, best served before 12/12.

Sample @ SMÖF 2012. Pours black with a small bubbly tanned head. Aroma is weak to medium roasted fruity appples. Flavor is roasted acidy bitter fruity; unbalanced. Finishes bitter roasted.

Aroma: Smelling of red fruits, cream and blackberry marmalade, a whiff of coffee.
Appearance: A hazy black colored beer. A high tan head with good lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting sweet dark bread, marmalade and licorice.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, small bubbles, a soft texture. A small body with a slight dry finish.
Overall: A nice light sweet fruity beer, but more Balitic Porter in my mind.

Sample @ SMÖF 2012. Pours hazy blackish brown with a frothy beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and herbal with roasted malts, caramel, dill, gooseberries, pine, sweetened coffee, lemon balm, butterscotch, grapefruit rinds and sweet liquorice candy. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter and tiny sour with dark bread, grapefruit rinds, salty liquorice candy, roasted malts, grass, resinous wood, gooseberries, dill, lemon balm, dark roast coffee and orange peal. Mouthfeel is round, tiny tart, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, grapefruit rinds, salty liquorice candy, pine, grass and resinous wood.

SMÖF 2012. Black beer with ā nice brown head. Hoppy fruity aroma, floral, grapes, citrus, caramel, chocolate, metal notes, cocoa powder, mango, milk notes. Hoppy flavor, floral, milk notes, citrus, grapes, perfume, metal, mango, apples, pears, raisins, caramel, some soot, some leather. Nice beer with a good balance.

Bottled at SMÖF 2012. Dark brown, medium beige head. Fruity aroma with straw- and blackberries, and some chocolate. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry, medium bitterness.

Pours a dark brown, with a beige head.
Yeasty aroma, smoke, phenols, malt, hops, ashes, chocolate, licorice.
Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Malty taste, chocolate, ashes, yeast, hops, phenols, coffee, spruce.
Not bad, but a bit unbalanced and phenolic. (2012-10-26)

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2012 Bottled at Bittens, Härnösand. Near black, rich creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, raw licorice and black currant. Mid sweet with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Mildly tarry with spun sugar, relaxed and chocolaty. Hops seem fairly restrained compared to roasty malt. Mid bitter finsih. Really nice - probably the best debut beer from a new Swedish brewer since Närke Stormaktsporter!
