3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle (at U Zpevacku, Prague). Pours amber and yellow body with somewhat lasting head. Warm caramel nose and flavor, with sticky fruit flavors and some hops. Alcohol is a little too present, though. I’ve had this on several different occasions and like it less each time, but the first bottle was a nice change.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light copper/amber color, with a thin head. Semi-sweet, dried apricot aroma. The flavor is sweet, as well, and that last until the very end. Hops, malt, apricot, toffee, and maybe even a hint of anise. Mildly bitter finish. This is a pretty good beer, but it’s really not my style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Acquired from John’s in Iowa City. Poured golden with a light weight, white head. Aroma was sweet and crisp. So when I tasted I was surprised at the roundness. Slight earth flavor at the start then effective hops and stong malt. Would be a great beer in the Fall outside.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Březnice. Week after expiration. Bronze color. Light yellow foam. Soft bitterness. Peculiar aftertaste. To be honest first Herold beer I’m little disappointed from but it’s maybe cause the bottle was already expired.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I have had this beer in the summer of 2000 at the globe in prague. I found it to be an adequate beer, but would not buy it on a regular basis. It was cheaper than soda and water, so why the hell not. The globe no longer has it on tap. It was especially good on thursdays when there was 5 crown pivo happy hour. At the time 5 crowns eqaled to about 15 usa cents. So it sure did work for that. They have switched over to Pilsner now.
