Papsoe (10359), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 25, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with a warm, reddish hue and a creamy, beige head leaving a good lacing. Fantastic aroma of fruit and roasted malt. Medium body with sweet, roasted malt and a vaguely burned edge. Discreet bitterness in the finish. Lovely indeed. 230506 madsberg (4373), Bangalore, India Apr 1, 2006 Bottled: Reddish brown coloured. Huge light brown dense head. Light roast and burnt in the aroma. Some sweet notes. Flavour is roasted, malty, sweet and light burnt. Has some choconotes. Loads of fullness. Quite smooth and pleasant on the palate. Is roasty and light coffeeish in the end. Me like. Had it on draught as well, which was a completely different experiense. Was watery and light sour. Something must have been wrong with the keg. Almost opaque black color, huge tan head. Strong aroma of ashy wood, licorice, roasted malts and cold coffee, but metallic tinge drops a point or two. Medium bodied. Licorice and roasted malts dominate the flavor. Coffee and licorice in the aftertaste. Reminds me about some other Danish stout. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Balanced, tasty stout. Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 20, 2006 A very dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, combined with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and some fruits - like oranges. The flavor is sweet and quite roasted with strong notes of chocolate, rye bread, and some fruits, as well as a light coffee note, leading to a burnt bitter end. The alcohol gives a slight burn in the throat.
