3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2010 Bottle 50 cl The Herslev Pilsner is a dark, amber coloured, unfiltered beer with a huge, lively and stable head. Distinct hoppy aroma and hoppy flavours on a very solid, malty base. Incredibly tasty for a pilsener with a lovely freshness. 091004
On tap. As "Herslev Magnum Pilsner" - a dryhopped version at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010.
On tap. Hazy golden with a dense white head leaving laces. Intensely fresh hop aroma - very grassy. Medium-bodied, very malty and somewhat biscuity with a distinctly bitter finish. 7/3/6/3/14= 3.3 080510

Botlle. Very hoppy aroma with nice grainy/malty notes as well. Taste is hoppy and with elements of fresh toast also. Nice bitterness. Probably the best Danish pilsner currently.

On tap. Beautiful creamy head on top of a golden beer, which has some chill haze, but clears up as it warms. The aroma is malty and sweet without detectable hops. The flavor is dominated by malt sweetness and it is very estery and slightly alcoholic. It ends with good firm bitterness. Syrupy, smooth mouth feel with a little too aggressive carbonation. Not a typical pilsener - reminds me more of a Belgian ale.

Hazy dark golden with a low fluffy head. Lot’s of old butter in the aroma. The flavour starts fresh and herbal but strong notes of melting butter overshadows everything. Quite bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice and interesting Danish pilsener, quite unlike any other on the market. Hazy amber colour with a huge off-white head (high carbonation). The aroma is refreshing and acidic, but the flavour is surprisingly malty. Initially the finish seems a bit weak but in the end the hops kick in. All in all, a fine pilsener that could "easily" be mistaken for an ale.
