COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. What I wrote about looks, aroma and flavor for the 2004 version also goes for this. Still I think 2005 is slightly better because it feels smore smooth and not quite as agressive as the 2004 version.

A good beer though it tends to feel rather clayey. Also has a rather strong feel of alcohol that doesn’t do it any favours. Otherwise a powerful taste of anis in particular.

Draught at BrewPub, Copenhagen. Good stuff! Cloudy dark and malty with lots of nice sweet fruits (prunes, plums, oranges). Some spices too. Warming palate and surprisingly drinkable for such a high ABV.

This is the nicest beer I have ever tasted from Herslev. The taste is full, and it fully deservs its name "starbrew". Really a plasure to drink ! Full head on a red-brown body, it has spices ans an enchanty sweet flavour.

Botttle, at No. 5. Redbrown with beige head, almost diminishing, modest lacings, unfiltered. Aroma moderate malty, light hoppy (brown sugar, caramel, koriander, star anis). Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter, long duration. Medium body, oily, soft carbonated. The alcohol is felt. Reminds of a Belgian abbey-ale, missing bitterness.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2005 Pours dark brown with a yellow head. Sweet and malty. Aromas of Spices (corriander) yeast and alcohol. Long bittersweet finish. Funny, I´ve handbrewed a beer very much like this. Mine was a bit fuller though. Recepe can be seen on: http://www.haandbryg.dk/cgi-bin/beercalc.cgi?pic Dubbel med Koriander og Honning&mine=on&sort=date&stylesort=0&numshow=50&n

Sweet aroma. Round in flavour with a sweet taste of refined sugar. Hints of caramel in finish and aftertaste. Not nearly as much anis as in the 2004.
