Bottle. Deep brown body with a beige head, malty aroma with caramel, light dysty hops, cloves and anise. Taste of christmas cookies, medium spicy yeast and apple juice, with a sweet malty finish. Slightly alcoholic.

Bottled. opaque dark brown with a low beige foam that dissapears quickly. Strong fruity and yeasty aroma of cherries, coriander, chocolate and all-spice. Smooth estery and well-balanced flavour of anise, caramel, cinnamon, cocoa-powder and yeast. Very smooth mouthfeel. long and mild finish of cinnamon, red berries, anise and yeast. No sign of the high ABV. Very nice and very drinkable.

bottle, 50 cl. Hazy orange brown with quite some yeast floating and slowly diminishing beige head. Strong star anise aromas combined with notes if caramel, yeast coriander and fruity hops. Taste is sweet malty, strong anise, spices, yeast and a fairly generous hoppy bitter finish, balancing things out. Smooth - a perfect match with traditional Danish x-mas fare like mustard glaced ham with kale.

Look; beige top, near clear dark cherry body. Aroma; prunes, liquorice, nut, caramel, liquorice, meadow. Taste; roasted malts, nut n prunes, liquorice, black caramel, black liquorice, grassy liquor hops - finishes to the roasted liquorice side. Feels solid n oily. Overall; maybe too much liquor and liquorice. I couldn’t get that anise. [50cl btl, 9%!abv, BB.11.9.2016, B@Vinmonopolet]

Fad. Udemærket julebryg, der godt kunne "spille" lidt mere med musklerne i betragtning af de 9 %. Dette gør den særdeles drikbar men heller ikke mere. Klassisk belgisk stil.

50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Dark brown colour with a little weak white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and hints of yeast and anis-spice. Nice mouthfeel of malt and spices. Little carbonation and hard to find the 9 % alcohol.

Bottle enjoyed at home
Dark brown, thin beige head. Smells powerfully of anis, also some caramel and malts. Taste is quite one dimentional and malty, good sweetness. Dry on the palate, nice malt bitterness. Ok beer, but forgettable

Pours unclear dark brown with a fine tan head. Lots of spices and yeast in the aroma. Tones of fruit and a warming note of alcohol. Strong velvety flavor of malt and heavy spices specially anise. Citrus and pineapple in there as well. Good bitter finish, almost biding. As said, soft mouthfeel. Highly drinkable despite the high ABV and spicyness. Very nice.
