Previously brewed at Anders

Hertenheer was initially brewed at Hofbrouwerijke but due to the success, the beer is then brewed in larger quantities at the Scheldebrouwerij and now, according to the label, at Anders in Halen. Also the recipy has slightly changed.

Aroma - caramel , Belgian yeast, alcohol, fig, and spice. Appearance - the body is a hazy goldenrod yellow, with great nucleation. The head is off-white and well over 2+" foamy, and takes a long time to settle. Taste - slight caramel, touch of pungent hops, coriander, Belgian yeast, touch of fig, and some oak. Palate - medium body, slight oil, average carbonation, and a slight bitter and slight booze finish.

Bottle at Zythos 2014. Hazy blond, complex aroma, crisp bitter flavour. None of the cloying fruitiness that thends to overwhelm, but clean taste.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy golden colour with a firm white top. Aroma not very special, some sweetness and fruits. Taste is very bitter, especially the aftertaste. I like it, but I can imagine there will be people who find it a bit too much.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2013 Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Billed as Hobbybrouwerij Hertenheer. Tulip. Hazy blonde pour. Thick pillowy white head. Lace. Lots of yeasty aroma in the nose. Juicy but dry. Nice blend. Wheat beer notes but also more complex vinous flavors. Thicker body than one might expect. A nice full golden ale with notable grassy floral hops. Full flavor, dry finish.

Bottle @ home Erik. Golden haze. Small head. Diacetyl in the nose blended with alcoholic. Sharp sweet bitterness and fresh dry finish. Love this brew for its complexity and drink ability. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
