2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap, last winter @ De Geuzen. Dark brown, beige head. Sweet aroma of brown sugar, some chocolate and roasted malts. Flavour is very sweet, malty, some chocolate, little bitterness. Too much sweetness for me, can’t finish it.

A clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a nice beige foamed head, with little bubbels. The aroma is malty, some roasted grains, little caramel and some fruits. The taste is sweet, little bitter with notes of chocolate in the back. A nice bockbeer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fluffy head, deep caramel color. Some hints of raisins and dark fruits in the body. Sweeter than not. Slight waff of alcohol. Slight roasted malt end, but not enough to counter the big sweet body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Luxembourg, Amsterdam)
Sweet fruity aroma. Alcoholic and sweet fruity taste. Mellow maltiness. Good dunkel, but I’m not getting the bock body that I expected. Marred only by the alcohol - keep that in check and it would be a very good beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Stone bottle 50 cl. Pours a very dark amberish brown with a small off-white head and with an aroma of molasse with spicey notes. The flavor is syruppy sweet at first and then turns spicey with some roastiness. A nice finish. A pretty good bock

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, bought @ Kolding Vinhandel. Pours very ’dunkel’, dark brown with nut-brown edges. Small, creamy white head on top. Turns rather quickly into a thinish film. Aroma is rye, toffee, slightly roasted. There is some metal and a slight fruitiness as well. Rather lively mouthfeel. Flavour is not as complex as the aroma, sadly. Roasted malts, some metal, slight figs. Rather sweet, but with the roasted malts at the back, there is a good balance.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 30cl (BB 03/2008)
Dark ruby brown color, decent brownish head. Aroma of toasted rye bread, cookies, figs and iron. Sweetish caramelly flavor with dark fruits like prunes and raisins. Some roasted malty notes and touch of metal also in the flavor. This is not so much a dark bock (this is an ale), more like abbey dubbel - ok beer as such.

Bottled. Dark brown in colouq. The aroma is that of burnt malt. The flavour is sweet and that of burnt malt. There is a sweet and dry aftertaste.
