COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A: Dark brown beer. Hazy, mocha foam top. S: Sour yeast, light bitter hops, caramel and a subtle coffee scent. T: Same as the smell suggests, but better. Has more sweetness to it then you’d expect, leveling out the light bitter and medium sourness. Not too sweet. Still fresh and balanced. M: Low carbonation, giving it a somewhat creamy medium bodied feel. Could be a tad fresher for a better balance. O: Nice balanced bock beer, but lacks a bit of complexity to call it very interesting.

Pours a ruby clear beer with a good creamy white head. Smells gras, sweet and malts. Not very much aroma. Tastes pretty fresh and bitter for a bock. Grassy, hops and fruity. Average carbo, dry texture and a thin body. Finish sweet and bitter.

een prima standaard bokje. Niet te zoet zoals de herfstbok van Grolsch ofzo

0,3 l bottle from Albert Heijn XL in Roermond. Clear dark red brown, sticky tan head. An absolute beauty! Weak aroma of molasses, caramel and candy sugar. Taste is the same with some sweetness. Thick texture, almost no carbonation. Some subtle bitterness in the end. First Bock for me this year, a really good one!

Nice dark beer. Not a lot of carbonation. Smells neutra. However, drinks very nice, no bad touches and sufficient alcohol, depth and taste, but not extra ordinary.

Bottle 30cl. Very dark brown with and red shine. Small beige head. Aroma of sweet english liquorice and caramel. Very pleasant taste. Compared to other Dutch bok beers this has a very rich taste with a good bitterness which makes it not too sweet. One of the best Dutch bok beers

Bijna zwarte kleur met een volle iets bruine kraag. Ruikt zoet, salmiak, chocolade en vanille. Smaakt chocolade, vanille en drop.

Draught @ Hertog Jan, Venlo. Pours hazy dark brown with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and yeast, with fruity touches. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and fruit, with subtle hoppy and roasty touches. Bitter aftertaste with estery hints. A nice one.

Bottle 30cl. Deep brown, near black with a small off white head that fades. Aroma reminds me of walnuts, there’s sweetness too. The taste is not bad at all. At first a subtle sweetness that combines bitterness. The Co2 is also noticeable. Slightly disappointed about the chemical aftertaste.
