COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Clear, dark brown. Tiny, offwhite head. Aroma has dried fruit, figs and prunes, brown sugar and alcohol. Malty flavour with more brown sugar and fruit. Light spicy and sweet finish.

30cl bottle from somewhere online! Pours a deep ruby red colour with a pale beige head. Aroma of plums and cherries, also very obvious in the taste. Very full flavoured and rounded, maybe a little thin, body-wise but still an impressive beer. Quite boozy and warming.

50 cl. keramik flaske. 10 %.

0.33L bottle. Pours clear deep mahoganey with a thin tan head. Aromas are all malt: caramel, brown sugar, some butterscotch. Flavor is quite sweet, with lots of brown sugar coming through at the beginning. Transitions to some herby hop and roasted malt bitterness. Full body with a sticky mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, this beer is all about the malt. It’s sweet, uncomplicated, but balances off well-enough, and is pretty dern tasty.

30 cl, flaske, 10,0 % ABV, købt i Den Belgiske Ølbutik i Vanløse, 16. oktober 2014.

0.75l bottle of the 2009 edition, courtesy of Borresteijn who gave it to us several years ago (huge thanks Rob!). We figured that it had aged long enough. :) Opened with just a faint pop, but the carbonation was still there. Daaaark amber-brown body with a medium sized white head. Heavy malty taste, dusty - some oxidation, raisins, not much else but still pleasant. Nice, heavy malty taste, plum, well balanced, some "dusty" oxidized notes, not too complex, but the alcohol is hidden insanely well and the taste is very, very pleasant. Dangerously drinkable in a way, unless you’re a rabid hop head - but you wouldn’t go for a quad then, would you. In any case, a very good drink that I was damn happy to finally try!

Dark, sweet, malty...Dark fruits as a main thing, with some caramel at the back. Sweet aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours an unclear red color with a one-finger beige head that disappears fast. Aroma of malt, caramel, dark fruits and sugar. Taste is of malts, caramel, dark fruits, chocolate and oak. Medium body and low carbonation. Starts out sweet but the finish is bitter, oaky and a bit tart. Complex and very tasty.
