Bottle, 12C. Dark brown with a pale beige head. Aroma of raisins, dried bananas, medium sherry, a little chocolate, vague herbs. Sweet with dried fruit, chocolate, licorice. Woody spices creep up towards the end. Not that boozy. Avoids cloying. Not particularly distinguished, but pleasant enough.

In bottle; poured nice dark brown ... very little head. Tasted somewhat sweet, almost like root beer. Overall, a very nice quad that I would absolutely buy again

Dark ruby in color, low level of CO2, light amber head, kind of mousse.
Complex dark fruits, raisins, fog, grapes, plums, in aroma and flavor. Something winy. Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness is very low. It has 10% alcohol but it is not extreme. Love this beer, it has drinkability an it is complex. Will have this Quad again.

Sweet and yeasty beer, with some fruits and herbs. Used to drink this before I became obsessed with craft beer.

Hertog Janís finest. Full flavour, nice "thick" taste Not the best quadrupel, but always a delight to drink.

50cl stone bottle with cork served in a Trappist glass. Pours a dark garnet colour with no head and carbonation being equally non-existent. There is little aroma other than rich fruits and cake notes. The mouthfeel is excellent (quite meaty) and the taste is exceptionally rich with very sweet notes. Very little hoppiness almost all malt, dried fruits and bread. The most cakelike beer I have tried in fact a perfect partner to a rich fruit cake.

Dirty dark brown color, almost black. Pours with a 1 inch head that settles to little more than a film before it can be enjoyed. Draws down clean and clear. Smells like bitter barley malt syrup and tastes the same with a smooth body and little to no bite or hint of alcohol. Some fruit peel, like apple on the finish. So, iíll give you that itís smooth but not that its good. Try an American barley wine if you want something less sweet.

Light mokka coloured head, black slightly brown colour, sweet fruity strawberry caramel like, a bit like a candy stick hints, smell, warm low carbonation medium bitter wine like a soft sweet fruity touch very delicate despite itís % of alcohol, a bit creamy in the start and a tintling after feeling
