COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle 50cl, a clear amber brown beer without head. Nose is very nice just caramel like and sweet. Aroma is on dark candy sugar, toffee, caramel, dry grapes, apricot, very pleasant beer, near to the best quadruples beers, some smoked malt hints, very enjoyable.

Smells like aweful old cheese. Flavours of burnt malts and caramel. Glad it tastes better than it smells.

30 cl bottle. Dark brown, almost black, clear liquid with a mahogany tinge and big fluffy, tan head. Malty smell with notes of caramel, dark fruits (figs, plums), belgian yeast esters, spices and some roasty and toasty notes. Nice! Taste has similar notes and is quite sweet, a bit roasted, light to medium bitter with quite some alcoholic notes. Not as elegant as, say, the trappist equivalents. Medium to full bodied with nice carbonation (maybe a bit high for the style) and smooth mouthfeel. Good example of the style but a bit too unrefined to go among the best.

Malziger, fruchtiger Geruch mit weinartigen Einflüssen. Stürmischer süß-malziger Start. In der Mitte fruchtige Nuancen von Ananas mit Alkoholnote. Malziger und alkoholisch wärmender Abgang. Ein sehr schweres Bier - fast überladen. Test vom 5.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

330ml bottle from Sliterij Van Bergen, Eindhoven (Netherlands)
The beer in the glass is dark brown, with a nice creamy head. Smell of dark malts, slightly alcoholic and sweet. Starts very sweet. Fruity, with aroma of grapes. In addition, malty-sweet, with a slight alcohol note, however, does not interfere. The middle part is mildly vinous again, very fruity and malty-sweet. The finish is clearly shown alcoholic, again dominated by a fruity-sweet malt aroma!
