Deep ruby-brown-maroon hues with a thin off-white head. Very little visible carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toffee, alcohol, prunes, raisins, brown sugar and pears. Heavily sweet, moderately acidic flavor becomes a moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter finish. Moderate alcohol burn. Medium-full body, oily/slick texture, low carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle 30 cl) Dark, slightly reddish brown and hazy with a small head. Malty and fruity flavours with notes of figs and dates. Sweetish yes, but not cloying. Very heavy and potent - to be enjoyed in small quantities! Comes close to some of the best Belgian abbey ales. The brewery calls this a Barley Wine - gerstewijn. 250802
