UPDATED: MAY 12, 2009 Bottle, thx to fonefan. (BB-date 060615) A clear, copper beer with a nice, beige head. Some oxidation in the aroma, but not more than that it felt nice. Else there’s dried fruits, caramel, some alcohol and sherry. Dried fruits, some roasted malt and a little pleasant oxidation in the flavor. Caramel-sweet finish with some alcohol. Full-bodied and warming. Even though it was and old beer, it was nice, but I guess you have to appreciate a little oxidation to enjoy it that much past BB-date. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. (080412)Bottle, from trade with jbrus. It pours a clear, ruby brown body under a small, beige head. The aroma is quite nice, but a little boring, with dried fruits, alcohol and some caramel. A bit heavy on the alcohol I think. Sweet flavor with alcohol and dried fruits, also here the alcohol is a bit more evident than I would prefer. Warming, full-bodied mouthfeel. Dried fruits and sweetness in the finish. A quite nice one, but it lacks a bit on complexity and it’s too warm. (090430)

0.33 L. bottle. Poured dark brown in color with a medium sized tan head with left a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma initially hits with strong alcohol and a dark fruit and caramel sweetness. Taste of dark fruits, toffee, caramel, figs, raisons and some mild spices. The alcohol detected in the nose was completely hidden in the taste. Very nice body and its quite enjoyable.

Bottled from AH in Mestreech. Full ruby red color with small beige head and nice lacing. Licoric nose. Aroma has licor and lots of alcohol. Flavour is dominated by spices, alcohol and fruits. Luckily not yeasty which is typically overdone in his class. Nicely composed beer despite being 10%

dark brown and ruby color w/ a big light tan head, lots of lace. Aroma has fruits, very dark.. definite raisin, maybe a touch of plum lots of sugar caramel, lots of sweet. Pal is full well coated and lightly creamy. Flavor is great huge sweet syrups followed by a light fruitiness of plum and raisin in brown sugar, theres a mullberry or blueberry or something hidden in there as well along w/ a touch of dry wood in the finish. I really liked this stuff.

0.33 l bottle. Mahagony color with small creamy head. Very vinous aroma with toasty and nutty notes, toffee, raisins, figs and caramel.Sweetish, vinous, toffeish, berryish and caramelly flavor. Some sharp alcohol in the finish. Soft chewy mouthfeel. Pleasant although has a bit industrial feel to it.

It’s a clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma has a lot a dark fruits, it is sweet and malty. In the taste are the dark fruits, like berries, prum and raisins. It’s a little spicy and it has some bitterness. It’s a different beer than many years ago, but still a good one.

Bottle @ Quinns, I believe? Deep ruby with a cream coloured head. Malty and slightly metallic aroma. Taste of chestnuts, roasted malts and fig. Sweet and spicy with a lick of alcohol.
