COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle: Dark brown, medium bodied with strong malts. Alcohol noticeable but not overly so. There’s better beers in this genre.

From 0.30 L bottle (a little aged; one month over bb date). Pours clear and brown with a rapidly disappearing light brown head. Aroma: rum cake, malty, medium alcoholic, slightly yeasty. A bit fruity with overripe dark fruit. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter, with increasing bitterness with time. Again yeast (more as on the aroma) and dark fruit. Additionally some notes of port wine with later in the finish, the alcohol coming to the front. Flat carbonation, medium to full body, slightly dry yet creamy mouthfeel. All in all a very good and intense beer, if I remember correctly, a little more alcoholic than a younger one.

Quaint 500ml pottery bottle - Vintage 2015. Aroma is sweet fruity spicy Christmas cake. Poured dark copper red with ok head and lacing. Taste is sweet rum and raisin with smooth alcoholic finish. Another great "by the fire" beer for the winter months.

Pours hazy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, alcohol, yeast and vinous. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel, dried fruits, yeasty and vinous finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

A gift from Emiel. Deep red, clear, with creamy light yellow foam, that dosnt last. Sweet, molasses, and alcohol in the aroma. Sweet, candy, caramel, fruit with mild bitter burned sugar, spice and alcohol in the aftertaste.

Aroma and appeareance are nothing special. The taste is is good but the abv is the most obvious. Only after the alcohol is gone, the real taste kicks in: sweet, coffeeish and round. The aftertaste remain sweet and round and a little roasty, but it’s the abv that sticks with you.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 0.5L. Hazy brown body with an average, frothy, tan head, mostly diminishing with some lacing though. Moderate malty (caramel, toasted) aroma with notes of raisins, red fruits (cherries) and light spices/alcohol. Moderate-to-heavy sweet and light bitter flavour. Medium-to-full body with oily texture; soft carbonation.
