COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle: Dark brown, medium bodied with strong malts. Alcohol noticeable but not overly so. There’s better beers in this genre.

0.5 bottle. Clear, dark crimson color and a medium, off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeasts, spices, Candi sugar, fruits (most notably bananas). Taste of dark malts, burnt sugar, spices again, fruits, and floral tones. A full body, a creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long, malty, sweet, zesty; a touch of alcohol shines through. Overall a very pleasant beer; once again the average score leads me to conclude that the beer must have been different in its infancy, or at least had a few bad years.

Most drinked beer by me, way to cheap here in the Netherlands with being only 1€ and available in almost every supermarket.
Aroma:
Malts, caramel, brown sugar, spices, fruits, banana, plums, slight chocolate.
Appearance:
Dark ruby/brown beer with a slight off-white head
Taste/Palate:
Starts sweet with fruit, banana, caramel and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and spicy. Well rounded, long finish with slight alcohol.

Very strong. It has complex and fullbodied taste, with equally sweet and bitter tones. Light spicy aftertaste.

Bier gedronken uit een palmglas. Zeer donker van kleur met kleine schuimkraag. Aroma en smaak wat zoetig. Was er niet zo erg kapot van.

Deep dark - redbrown dutch gerstewijn. Good balance between sweet and bitter. Full rich body Raisins, toffees in the taste. Tast stays long in the mouth.

Interested to taste this beer at different ages. At 12 months of age it was a great taste experience. Only small gripe would be the addition of colourant. Looking forward to my next one.

Bottle. Rich malt, toffee, raisin, boozy notes, sweet finish with warming alcohol. Not too impressive for a barley wine, and no idea why they used coloring...
