Golden beer, white foam. For normal beer a nice taste. Not complex, nice to drink.

0,3l fles @ Bryanvdv, goudgeel helder pils. In de geur zoete mouttonen, smaak zoet, met een klein bittertje. Body redelijk voor een pils, aardig pils bier.

30/VI/13 - 33cl can @ home - BB: X/2013 (2013-590) Thanks to Ilse for the can!
Clear orange beer, creamy irregular white frothy head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, grains, hint of citrus. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bitter start, some grains, sweet and malty touch, bit sugary. Aftertaste: sweet malts, slightly bitter, some citrus, bit sugary, some overripe fruits. Actually not the worst Pilsener Iíve had.

Bottle 30 cl. Pours a white head that lasts some time. Very clear beer. Chemical aroma, mainly malts. Taste is pretty much the same, malt and a little hops, chemical. I have serious doubts on the beer being as natural as the brewer claims it is. Watery texture.
My dad likes it, but i canít see why.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Pours a clear straw colored body with a finger-width, foamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat grassy and fruity with a light pils malt sweetness. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened pils malts with a light grassy fruitiness throughout. Finishes clean and dry with a light bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent pils. Nothing special, but well balanced and flavorful enough.

Nice pilsner. Equally likable as Brand, yet Hertog Jan focusses a bit more on the malts where Brand focusses more on the hops. This gives some identity to this well-balanced pilsner. In my opinion, Hertog Jan is one of the two best pilsners from the Netherlands (the other being Brand). The Limburgians certainly beat the Hollanders when it comes to brewing.
