On tap. Light yellow colour. Stable white head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma is mild: mainly malts. Taste containt malt and some fruitiness, again heavy carbonation. Finish is short, light bitter and dry.
Very good, easy-to-drink pilsener.

33 cl bottle. Pale golden clear liquid with medium egg white head. Aroma of cereal malt, biscuits, noble hops, corn and metal. Dry and light to medium bitter. Not much going on in the taste. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Standard euro lager, not that good.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Yellow, slightly amber, color with creamy collar that disappears quickly. Little sweet smell with flavours of hop. Creamy taste. Initially feels like liquor in your mouth. After a while less mild, a bit more bitter, but still mild.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Surprisingly full-bodied for a pilsener. Crisp, fresh, and slightly bitter. I’ve had this on multiple occassions, the most recent of which was in Krimpen aan den IJssel at Ankie de Jong’s house. 11.19.2011

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, decent sized lightly creamy white head. Smell malts, not much more. Pretty standard ok pilsener smell. Taste malts, lightly bitter. No hops and in general not a lot of flavor, though other Hertog Jan beers are quite decent. Carbonation average, low to medium body.

On tap at the the Lowlander in Bodegraven Holland.. It poured a clear golden liquid with a white head. Mild smell and taste of pale malts, pale bread and with a mild bitterness. An industrial lager without apparent off flavours.
