patrick767 (1396), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 9, 2008 tap at the brewpub - This one pours light yellow and mostly clear with a mild wheat malt aroma. The flavor is sweet and light with very little going on in it. This beer is thin, soft, somewhat refreshing, and oh so forgettable.
Well, on the plus side this place has very attractive waitresses. Too bad the beer isn’t too attractive.
awaisanen (1132), Irvine, California, USA Feb 20, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Wheaty nose with a healthy wheat bread thickness and a softening touch of banana. Very little yeast characters, either in phenolics or esters. How disapointing; the malt profile seems quite nice. Mostly cloudy, caramely brass color with a thick head of well-sustaining off-white. Medium bodied, creamy carbonated mouthfeel. Excellent texture, with a soft, supple quality that highlights the creamy dimensions of the wheat flavors. A hint of milky vanilla and caramel, but mostly the wheat flavors dominate. No hop flavor noticeable, but the finish dries out to an adequate level on it’s own. Why exclude an important, signature yeast character from an otherwise well crafted beer?
