0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
On cask at The Wheatsheaf Inn, Wetheral, Cumbria. Looked OK, ruby brown with off white head. Tasted like malt vinegar with a beery appearance. Probably the worst beer Iíve ever tried. Must have been gone.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head. A nice smoky, malty aroma. Sweet ish in the mouth with good fruits and a nice malty body. Really easy to drink and far better and more enjoyable than the sum of its parts which is a real skill.

Good session bitter. Blew most of my Summer earnings at the brewery tap drinking Doris’ health when doing fieldwork for uni there.

Many pints at the Brewery Tap itself in Hesket Newmarket. A fine session bitter. Fairly well balanced malt in the mouth and hops leading through to a dry fruit finish. Goes particularly well with the Rogan Josh served in the Crown Inn.
