COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled, Regular;
A pale refreshing but substantial bitter, produced from Maris Otter malt, with subtle notes of Golding, Northdown and Challenger hops and a refreshing, almost citrus, late hop note from Pioneer and Caskade.

Bottle from Local in Carlisle. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - citrus , resin and pale malt. Taste - like a malt bag. Some lemon and orange following it through though. Metallic finish. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a bit dry and lacking in fruit.

Bottled, 500ml from Tebay Services, Orton, Cumbria. Gold with white head. There is a surprisingly odd taste from the start with this beer, waxy, sour orange pith is the closes I could think of, bitter and fruity, really difficult to describe. The flavour continues throughout the beer, which was a shame as the malt is light and biscuity. Not great.

Bottle at Craig’s, cheers Niall! Pours pale gold, thin white head. Definitely sherbet-to-brett on the nose, which has thinned out the beer to something not recognisable as golden/blonde ale. Sour fruits taste. Probably not intentional.

Odd murky, odd visible carbonation, odd mealy head. Rusty sour lime. There’s so many failings here. Palate is engaged four a massive sour . Like pouring a packet of refreshers into a carton of milk on the window sill and giving it a good shake. Nonsense. And I managed to bring two of these back from Cumbria.

Bottle on the train from Inverness to Hereford, fromt the Local Carlisle, 21/10/13. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is straw, bitter citrus, bready malts, orange. Taste comprises citrus fruit, faint earthy hopppage, bitter orange, toasted malts. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry grassy bitter notes in the finale. So so GB.
