Taster at the old brewery, no tasting room. Pour a yellow to orange with white head. Aroma is paper and cardboard. Taste is more of the same. Some slight sweetness.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours an amber color with a faint vanilla aroma. Taste is airy, and light with a slight vanilla flavor in the aftertaste. A cream film on the tongue and palate. A decent cream ale made in San Diego.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
1 pint can. Pours a reddish copper color with a small beige head that has poor retention. The aroma is mild with grains and something earthy. The taste is semi sweet with hazelnuts, bitter almonds and malted grains. The palate is full and silky with soft carbonation. Finishes short and dry. Overall: Decent, but not thrilling.

On draft at Whole Foods - Chandler. Aroma of medium malt, light caramel, some pine resin, and a hint of prunes. Pours dark ruby-amber with a brief white head. Oddly slightly sour caramel taste with a musty malt flavor, light toasted bread, and an astringent resin note. A creamy touch of spoiled milk emerges late. Medium body, slightly creamy texture. Overall, I find it rather mediocre; it doesn’t really stay within the cream ale style.

Sampled on tap at Sea 180 in Imperial beach. Poured in a tall skinny glass. Really quality brew with a clean crisp taste. Unique malty taste.

Tap at the brewery - San Diego. ABV noted at 6.3%. Pours lightly hazy brown with a frothy white head. Bready, doughy brown bread in the nose with subtle toast. Medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted bread, some dough, mild earth, slight berries, toasty toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Sweet finish with subtle toasted leaf bitterness, toasty brown bread, light toffee and brown sugar. Very tasty, well balanced stuff.

Weak hops aroma. Gorgeous copper color. Mild and creamy with a light hops and lemon aftertaste. Light mouthfeel. Good compliment to fish and chips.

I don’t drink a ton of cream ale, but this one is very good. Nice malty feel, apparently this style was exported from Austria to Mexico. Think Negro Modelo, but GOOD.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at tasting room. Pours a darker amber colour with a small off white head. Aroma is of bread malts and very slight floral hops. Not too sweet really with a fairly mild bitterness as well; nice light flavour to it. Light-medium body, creamy smooth mouth feel, and soft carbonation. A very enjoyable vienna.
