July 10th, 2013 - Hess Grazias is a clear, brown amber brew, low and deep, saturated with color like an ancient gem, with a thick cork of foam protecting it from earth’s harsh atmosphere. Unfortunately, this foam layer keeps me from detecting much in the aroma. The foam can’t protect the beer from my palat, and I dive in for an eager quaffing. This yields an overall sweet flavor, with some Pop-Tart type sugars, and a soft, smooth velvet. The sweetness of the brew isn’t my preference, but it is surprisingly deep and engaging.
