3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From San Diego. Smells of big floral/citrus hops, juicy and bitter. Starts out very fruity - pineapple and mango and citrus - but becomes more malty as it warms up. Tastes of spicy malt and quite bitter hop with dry fruity finish. Body is medium and slick. Very tasty (though I don't know that I would've pinpointed the rye on my own) and drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from Bottlecraft in SD at home. Bright translucent golden pour with thin creamy head. Looks great. Aroma is mango and pineapple - yum. Taste is similar but lighter than you'd think, despite being, as it says, high gravity. Good bitterness too. Nice palate - heavy enough and a smooth foaminess. Very pleasantly surprised.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at The Beer Company. Lasting head and lacing. Orange amber, very faint aroma, rye sourness and hop bitterness both catch your attention, and there seems te room on the palate for both. Interesting beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
The description about it being very drinkable is spot on. Not an overwhelming hop portfolio. If it wasn't clocking in at 8%, it could be an all day sipper

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16oz can pours with a crystal clear gold body that has thin copper hues and supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up grapefruit, tangelo, a bit of mango and spicy hops with a decent degree of malty sweetness in the background. The taste quickly gets into juicy citrus thatís grapefruit, tangelo and tangerine like hop flavor. It then picks up bits of mango mixed with spicy near onion like hoppiness and some bitter hop resin. The resiny hop edge doesnít fit in all that well with the juicy fruitiness but this doesnít distract much from this being just a tasty IPA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can poured into SN pint glass. Nose is bready with rye coming through. Hazy light orange. Flavor is a little off target for me, kind of has that dusty flavor which Iím not fond of. Nice body, but the after taste is just not what I prefer. I had the other canned Hess IPA but donít think I rated it, I liked that more.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a can. Hazy amber. Off-white head with fairly well retention. Aroma of pine and something else that I can't quite put my finger on. Taste of grapefruit with the spiciness added from the rye. Lingering aftertaste. Would drink again.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Small, off white head thats short lived, skimpy, thin lacing. Iced tea appearance, aroma and flavors. Not finding the nice hoppy IPA trip that all the other raters have had, damn. Bad/old can? Fair amount of celery and a bit buttery and astringent also. Cant finish it and that dont happen very often with me! No redeeming qualities at all. I do believe i have over rated this one. Can from StefanSD. Thanks man!

16oz can. Clear Copper amber. Grassy, fruity, earthy and floral aromas. Distinct bold clean hop flavors with a medium malt backbone. Spicey burn in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From: Southpaw Social Club in San Diego, Calif.
Price: $4 (w/ Happy Hour, $6 regular)
Purchased: June 3, 2014
Consumed: June 3, 2014
Poured caramel, orange color with 2-to-3 fingers of foamy, creamy white head. Slight bubbles coming up from the bottom. Nice amount of layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention.
Smelled floral hops, citrus hops, rye hops, iced tea and orange notes.
Tasted rye hops, malty, earthy notes, citrus hops, orange and some tropical hops.
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish.
A pretty decent IPA. Iíd have it again.
