porterhouse (880), Alna, Maine, USA Jul 5, 2008 (330 ml bottle (best before 3/06) from Tully’s) Pours fairly cloudy slightly burnt orange/amber with one finger of soft-looking biege head that recedes to a thin, lasting cap. Aroma of light, sweet dark fruits and some doppel-like smokiness. Mouthfeel soft, with a decent amount of heft, fine bottle-conditioned carbonation. A bit sticky in the finish. Very nice well-defined weepy rings of lacing. Flavor of sweet dark fruitiness and brown sugar. A wonderful doppel-like smokiness. A nice, warming alcohol presence on the back end. I really kind of loved this stuff! dkachur (582), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle from somewhere in Richmond, VA. Hazy orange-amber with minimal head. Spicy, nutty caramel aroma.
