2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Pours hazy (sediment) orange with a small lasting white head. Aroma is malty, yeasty, spicy, moderately alcoholic... Expected much better than this... It doesn’t smell bad, but it is quite off putting. Taste is pretty sweet, but not pleasantly sweet. Mainly because of the alcohol which is very omnipresent and crushes a lot of hard to find the flavors (sugar, bit of honey and nuts... Mainly sugar though). Pity... Finish is heavy as well. Bitter, warming, boozy and inbetween sweet and dry. Full bodied, oily/sticky texture... Sweet indeed, but closer to a roasty barley wine with some notes of whisky... Not a quad if you ask me. Lacks the softness and refinement and it misses a lot of taste. If I wanted just mere alcohol, I could have drunk a whole bottle of 80% Stroh instead... Disappointing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 18months old from Belgium. Pours with a big head. Bits of sediment floating about. Cloudy orange brown. Aroma is yeasty and malty. Taste is very carbonated with a simple refreshing light maltiness and smooth after taste. Would never know it's 10%.

Bottle. Hazy orange with big white head. Lots of spicy yeast, stone fruits (peach). Bit malty backbone with some cookies and fresh dough. Quite some alcohol presence. Full bodied with nice carbonation. Good stuff but really too much alcohol.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bière blonde dorée de fermentation haute, refermentée en bouteille, elle a une saveur corsée, une bonne rondeur en bouche avec une petite pointe d’amertume très agréable. Bref, une bière bien équilibrée.

Maybe not standard quad, but its still very enjoyable. Decent maltiness, interesting wheat presence, decent hop fruitiness, peach, orange, bit spices, yeast. Mostly sweet with quite dry bittersweet finish. Lovely

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle served in a Leffe chalice.
A: Pours a cloudy dark yellow to orange color forming a medium white aired head that dissipates quickly leaving practically no lacings in the glass. However, a thin layer remains forever on the top
S: Traditional Belgian Triple in the nose: Sweet, malty and spicy. Notes of pale grains, caramel malts, crystal malts, candy sugar, coriander, cloves, vanilla and honey. A bit fruity too with some notes of pears and figs. Very bready and earthy yeasts. Some flowery hops and alcohol in the end
T: Complex: Sweet upfont with notes of pale malts, caramel malts, crystal malts, candy sugar, coriander, cloves, vanilla and honey. Pears, figs and white grapes. Notes of white wine. Wheat and biscuits. Citrus hops and a modest but pleasant hoppy bitterness in the end. Light notes of alcohol despite the considerable ABV
M: Heavy body. Medium carbonation. Malty bittersweet aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Standard Belgian Triple. Complex and pleasant
