Bottle from a little shop in SF. Slightly hazy medium amber color on the pour. Sediment floating about. Yeasty floral aromas.Strong yeasty flavor with a bit of graininess. Quite spicy. Some hoppy grapefruit in the finish.

Fast and white over a murky, golden/orange. Fruity, yeasty aroma with tart cherry, ripe banana and sharp & spicy esters with a mild metallic note to detract. Sharp, fluffy mouthfeel with some burning in the gut-feel. Flavor is heavy on the fruit with bready yeasts and pale malt accents, but there is a sweetness that cloys. ABV hides in the flavor until the aftertaste. Iíll stick with La Trappe or St. Bernardus for this style.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours hazy dark gold with a large fluffy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, belgian spices, alcohol. Flavor is smooth, sweet, carbonated, yeast, citrus, and slight fruit. Body seemed thin, but a damn good brew.

Pours a deep hazy copper with a two-finger fluffy ivory head. Sheets of lace. Smells fruity. Some lightly spicy belgian yeast. Hints of green apple and red berry. Much spicier taste thatn the nose. More alcohol present too, Some carmelized cnady sugar, hints of molasses. Peppery and spicy. Coriander and orange rind. Very bitter finish. Full bodies and sticky mouth. A decent drinker but certainly a sipper. Better than expected.

Hazy yellow honey hue, with a frothy white head, yeasty citrusy fruit nose, with some stewed apples accents, bready dough, pale malt aroma follows through on a full-bodied palate with a yeasty, bready dough character, fruity accent of marmalade, hint of vanilla spiciness, stewed apples, toasted and pale malts, leading towards a sweet honeyish alcoholic punch, candied citrus fruits and an earthy hop bittering finish.

4th Kapittel bottle from a 4-pack bought in Portland. Lasting thin clumpy head on a dark dusty golden elixir containing some dusty dark particulate around the edges of the glass. Strong fruit and yeast aroma is quiet at first but has a seductive quality that pulls you in. Body like drinking a cloud. I donít notice the alcohol in the taste but I can feel itís effect half way through the bottle. Flavour is hard to describe. Light, wispy, quiet spice, wine-like perhaps.

Hazy/amber peachy appearance...I wouldnít have thought an "abt" would resemble a tripel, that seems like what Iím in for...big, buoyant head, slowly settling... Aroma: yeast, spice, fruit, ...very alert and lively, a boucy, flavorful affair, this... Taste it, now...big spritz of taste, here,...large carbonation, quite a buzz on the tongue...peach and apricot on the palate, nicely hopped, ...oversized effervescence, spritzy and spicy...likeable, though, if I need to mention it. Medium bodied, long, spicy, citric finish...nice ale, but not dazzling. Iíll have one again, but it doesnít belong among the pantheon of Belgian greats, that we can attest to...despite that, lean back and enjoy the yeasty, fruity, spicy goodness! I may also mention that the over-large alcoholic content is highly hidden until the end...10% what?, who?...oh...you...

Light amber coloured, strong carbonation and a large diminishing white head. Sweet yeasty aroma, fruity (citrus?) Full dough body, Finish is strong alcoholic, sweet ending more bitter and rather dry. Not bad.

Poured with a nice head and a fairly cloudy golden yellow color. Sweet and citrusey aromas and flavors arose over top of the wheaty tasting (and yeasty) base that was accented by orange peels and coriander. Candi sugar flavors were detected and this one actually included a slightly bitter finish to keep things honest. Good stuff.
