Gigantic, frothy, compact head. Tangerine colored. Cane sugar, wild flowers, and mild copper aroma hint of band aids. Sweet malt and candy sugar to start followed by tropical fruit: kiwi, papaya, mild bananas. Dry peppery finish.

Nice typical Belgian . I would call this strong blond a triple. It is not boozy but the 10% is part of the flavor. The smell is quite alcoholic. Texture and carbonation is pleasant. The flavor is less sweet than I expected with lots of yeast malts and a good amount of bitter hops. Easy to drink.

A beautiful cloudy amber, froth clears pretty quickly, sticky sweet deep autumnal flavours, woody, earthy, with a bitter back taste, one to drink under a large oak tree on a warm September day!

App: Large frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing. Body hazy yellow orange. Ar: Moderate malts (cookie, straw, caramel), light hops (flowers, citrus fruits), light yeast (barnyard), banana, graope, apple, pineapple, butter, brown sugar and spices. Flav: light acidic, light acidic and light bitter, light bitter and sweet, bitter. Pal: medium to full, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Gooood!

Aroma is fairly pale but there is some nice dark fruit aromas here. Faint hints of Belgian sugar candy and yeast. Taste is a pleasant sweet malt body with very nice fruity sweetness. Finishes smoothly for a 10% beer. Appearance is a cloudy orange/gold with a poorly retained head.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with a medium sized foamy off-white head. Aroma of apricot, yeast and wheat. Sour and bitter with a medium bitter finish.

Alengrin (1746) - BELGIUM - AUG 21, 2014
Classic abbey-style beer in existence since 1964 but clearly not an ’abt’ if this term has to cover dark, sweet, heavy Belgian ales: this is in fact a tripel, with a hazy, orange blonde colour and moussy head; yeasty and sweet malts, fruity, soft with smooth and delicate mouthfeel, mildly hoppy with warming alcohol in the finish.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours orange coloured, small head. Alcohol in the nose and in the taste. Alcohol palate. High temperature fermentation, lots of banana & syrup aroma’s. Rather flat. Bomb.

Een lekkere quadrupel zoals het hoort te zijn met heel volle, rijke smaak.
