UPDATED: JAN 23, 2006 (Bottled) Very nice, deep red color, turns into very hazy, beautiful christmasy color with solid yeast in the bottom, and a quite large and foamy, beige head. Malty, sweetish aroma with raisins and spices. Sweet, syrupy-malty, reasonably complex, spicy flavor with cherry and pear hints. Long, syrupy aftertaste. Slicky, oily, medium to full-bodied and sugary, warming palate with a slightly foamy carbonation. Sweetness and well-hidden alcohol make this one a nice dessert brew.

Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light brown, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), lightly hoppy (herbs, lemon, flowers), with notes of clove and coriander. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.

Brown color with a very nice beige head. The taste is fruits and yeast. Has some spice notes but it finishes slightly metallic.

Copper gold . Decent size head . At 7.5 % you are getting fair amount of alcohol , some bitterness and malt .

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2003 What a beautiful beer! My first thought when I put my mouth to the glass is that this beer is very similar to Rochefort 6. It has the most beautiful beige creamy head and a nice hazy amber body. The aroma is malt and fruit and the flavor is malt, fruit and spices!

Hmm, this ones has quite low ratings. Strange, it was quite good actually. Aroma is sweet, malty and fruity. Brown coloured. Taste is malty, sweet, fruity (apples, grapes).

Raisin aroma. Slight toasty bitter flavor, but the raisinny sweetness rules. Hint of cherry and metal. Maybe a bit thin for the fairly high ABV. Nice beer that lacks depth.

Small light brown head. Clear red-brown body. Aroma; sweet, a little sourish, spicy, rum, raisins. Taste; malty, spicy and unfortunately a little medicinal. Ends bitter with a little bit of sour milk. No great pleasure.

A bit fizzy flowery and fruity (lemons) aroma. Looks mostly ok, amber brown, thick creamy head, a bit more carbonation than expected. Malty, fruity (a lot of lemons again) some dusty yeast notes. Too much golden ale, too little trapiste - not really true to style. Fizzy thin and sodalike mouthfeel, unexpectedly fresh.
