330ml brown bottle. Brown pour with deep orangey gold highlights, large and airy whitish cap on top. Nose has chocolate and toasted malts. The taste has caramel, some dark fruit, chocolatey notes. Dryish end, light yeast and a little winey fruitiness in there. A decent dubbel.

33 cl bottle. - Dark brown. Heavy caramel and roasted malts, sweet but not cloying. Fruity and slightly earthy, with notes of redcurrants. But it’s the distinct coffee flavour that makes this Dubbel stand out from the mass of competitors. Quite bitter finish. - Characterful dubbel, one of my favourite Belgian beers.

Roodbruine kleur, weinig schuim. Veel koolzuur. Ruikt zoet. Smaakt zoet, maar niet te. Tamelijk lekker.

330ml bottle. i had this straight after the affligem dubbel. big difference between the two. pours quite a dark brown but was clear. head lingers for a while. aroma is of malts, plums and a little yeasty. taste was nice. not as full bodied as the affligem dubbel but definitely gives a good feel in the mouth.

Bottle, 330 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 7.5% More amber than brown in colour, transparent body. Two fingers of thin, off-white coloured head, collapsing fast but eventually settling on a thick line of foam. Light lacing on the glass. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, caramel, just a bit fruity. Very sweet taste, maybe the sweetest dubbel I’ve ever drunk. Lots of malts, lighty roasted, basically it follows the aroma. There is caramel and lighty fruity on the aftertaste. Thankfully the sweet flavour retreats fast enough. Medium body, good carbonation. Overall, okay, although way too sweet.
