pours a brown amber reddish beer with a good white head. Standard smell. Hops spices and hay. The taste is way to sweet. Dont like it. The palate is weak too. Fizzy carbo and a watery thin texture.

Pours slightly hazy russet to coppery brown with a full creamy coloured head that sank slowly into the glass. I love a dubbel and hope this lives up to my expectations of full cocoa, malt and butter aroams. It is alittle lighter than expected, but no less satisfying. It also carries a touch of licorice, molasses and pumpernickel. The mouthfeel is of full carbonation and then it gives way to flavours of chocolate biscuits, cola and dusty Dutch biscuits. It is dry to the finish but leaves with a gorgeous reminiscence. It also leaves me a happy man.

Test vom 20.4.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,7,6,10,8 - 7,90

Cloudy brown/red with a thick head of fine beige foam. Smells roasted and malty, with the sweetness of dark candy sugar. The taste is very much like the nose, slightly roasted, quite sweet but certainly not excessively, prunes or raisins, a full and malty taste with a hint of iron if it’s served rather cold. There’s a medium alcoholic feeling as well. The aftertaste differs in the sense that there is a fine bitterness to it, almost grassy. In short: a very nice, pleasant, full and balanced taste, even more so since it’s only a 7.5% beer.
