COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
For this sweet flavoured and dark brown beer,we use aromatic malt (for the dark colour). For abbey beer, Kapittel Pater has rather low abv (6%). The hop we use is Poperingse hop which has only a light bitter taste.

Interesting brew. At first aroma is quite weak, but then it conquers my nose with nice subtle bouquet. Lovely caramel background, some fruitiness, dried fruits, light spicy and yeasty. Moderate sweet with some sourness, light bitterness, quite dry finish. Decent dubbel, but would like it even more without that sourish note.

Bottle. Murky cola pour, nice foam head. Aroma: saison yeast (emmental cheese), bok beer, hint of fresh grass, hint of rye bread, hint of burnt malts. Taste: follows the aroma, mostly resembles a sweeter version of a bok beer. Dark grains. Strange but nice saison sensation permeates. Sweet, distantly reminds of a cola soft drink. Autumn stuff.

Geur van ijzer en zoet, donkere kleur. Smaak eerst ijzer, daarna zoet karamel achtig met wel een alcohol smaak

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2014 Pours amber / orangish / brown liquid from a 0,33 cl bottle. Goes from a full alcoholish taste, then a bit metalish taste and fades out with a caramel like taste. Nothing special. Expected more when looking at the picture on the beer where monks are going mental!

A little heavy on the booze, with some light smokey aroma. Finishes with some light bitterness. Pours murky brown without much head or lacing. A touch of sugary malt. Not a huge palate. Bottle.

33cl bottle at home. Clear amber brown with a slightly off-white head soapy head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with some bitter tones. Brown sugar, caramel, spics and some chocolate. It’s an ok brew, but a tad too sweet.

Orangebraunes Bier mit ordentlicher leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Früchten, Karamell, leicht hefig, würzig. Geschmack süß malzig, röstig, Karamell, reife Früchte, hefig, ok!
