COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
For this sweet flavoured and dark brown beer,we use aromatic malt (for the dark colour). For abbey beer, Kapittel Pater has rather low abv (6%). The hop we use is Poperingse hop which has only a light bitter taste.

330 ml bottle. Murky brown with beige head. This bottle was a bit oxidized. Aroma of malt, caramel, bread and floral hops plus the cringy oxidized notes. Taste is sweet and malty, full taste with fairly low bitterness. Finish is bready and caramelly.

The appearance is not too flattering, looking like something we get from hepatitis. Fishy flavour behind the rather seemingly synthetic aroma of fruits. No good. Reminded me of my disastrous experience with the Achel Bruin.

Pours clear deep amber brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, bread and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a caramel and bready finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Delicious bitterness, well balanced. Some mix of coffee and cacao there. Medium bodied.

Draught at bar. Dark brown color, white head. Bittersweet taste with malts, chocolate, fruits, earthy notes and bread. Bittersweet finish with malts and fruits. Very nice brew.

Pours a brown-red color, clear liquid with a very minimal head. It smelled like red wine and cherry. Tasted a bit bitter with a light body, thin watery texture and an average to lively carbo. Overall a mediocre beer

Apr 2012 - Marketed as an abbey ale, but tastes more like a dark lager. Very mild, a slight ’watery’ taste like you get with lighter beers. Alright, but wouldn’t rush to buy again.

Bouteille 330ml.
