COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
For this sweet flavoured and dark brown beer,we use aromatic malt (for the dark colour). For abbey beer, Kapittel Pater has rather low abv (6%). The hop we use is Poperingse hop which has only a light bitter taste.

Hazelnootkleurig bier, nauwelijks blijvende schuimkraag. Sterk aroma van appelstroop. Smaak zoet/zuur.

Even though this is not a very strong beer, it will knock you off your feet: and that’s a good thing. Very enjoyable without it having too strong of a taste.

APPEARANCE: dark amber and clear with a reddish body. medium ivory head with below average retention. TASTE: overall malty flavour with a toasted character. very faint to non discernible esters. low bitterness with a semi-dy finish. PALATE: medium-low body with average carbonation. 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear red-brown with a thick off-white head. Aromas of caramel, lightly metallic, Christmas spices, pot pourri. Taste is more clove, spice, metal on the finish.

Helder roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en licht zoet met sporen van caramel en chokolade. Ietwat waterig maar desondanks best goed te drinken.

*Old rating, best before 03.13. Röstmalzig-süffiges und leicht süßlich-mildes Bier. Nicht zu tief, leicht scharf, interessant.

Interesting brew. At first aroma is quite weak, but then it conquers my nose with nice subtle bouquet. Lovely caramel background, some fruitiness, dried fruits, light spicy and yeasty. Moderate sweet with some sourness, light bitterness, quite dry finish. Decent dubbel, but would like it even more without that sourish note.

Bottle. Murky cola pour, nice foam head. Aroma: saison yeast (emmental cheese), bok beer, hint of fresh grass, hint of rye bread, hint of burnt malts. Taste: follows the aroma, mostly resembles a sweeter version of a bok beer. Dark grains. Strange but nice saison sensation permeates. Sweet, distantly reminds of a cola soft drink. Autumn stuff.
