This dark beer has been brewed with careful attention in accordance with our age old brewing tradition. It is a flavourful beer, tasting slightly bitter-sweet.

33 cl bottle at home. Pours unclear chestnut brown with low, fast diminishing tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, coffee, plum and even some coconut. Taste: medium sweetness with low to medium bitterness. A little salty taste. Notes of brown sugar and plums. Texture is sticky. Carbonation is average.

On tap, 25cL. @bar La Tireuse, Toulouse. Old memories there during my veterinary studies in "La Ville Rose". A beautiful red brown clear sparkling beer ; medium off-white head ; medium retention. Caramel, roast, herbs, sugar. Medium sweet, sugary, light to medium dry bitter. Just a little windy. Medium body, thin oily, average carbonation, short sweet herbal toffee finish. Overall, Ok amber belgian ale ; hoppy aroma, bitterness drown in heavy sweetness. I will taste the bottle version.

F: pale brown, thin, diminishing to thin film. C: dark brown, non-transparent. A: sweet malt, fruity, some milk chocolate, hints of alcohol, cherries. T: very malty sweet, fruity, plums, raisins, brown sugar, molasses, caramel, yeast, biscuits, medium body, average carbonation, a little overrated I think but still very good beer from that style.

Bottle at home. Aroma of dark malt, caramel, toffee, dark fruits, brown sugar, some roasted notes, some chocolate. Flavour is sweet with a light bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Rich and sweet, pretty enjoyable. More or less seems to be a stronger version of the Dubbel, which I had before this one.

En stor fyldig stærk smag af maltet korn. Den høje procent smages i varmen som øllen har.

Butelka, warka do kwietnia 2016, wiec sporo poczekala butelka na wypicie. Przejrzyste, ciemnobrazowe z rubinowymi przeblyskami, z nieimponujaca piana. Aromaty karmelowe, swiezych (wisnie) i suszonych (rodzynki, figi, sliwki) owocow. Do tego tez miod czy melasa, cos slodkiego bardzo. Slady kakao a moze gorzkiej czekolady. Slady przyprawowosci (Cynamon?). Klasa piwo.

12/1/2008 9:59:58 AM Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark reddish brown. Fuzzy head. Sweet, fruity nose. Warm, sweet, caramel flavour. A wide variety of different flavours really, including toffee, nuts and dark fruits, definitely cherry and plums. Then a tad of sourness in the finish. Nice.

Nice strong beer. Very malty and pretty sweet too. Medium body, lots of sediments in the amber brown pour.

Pours murky brown with small head that quickly disappears. Aromas of brown sugar, figs, malt. Tastes really nice: plums, raisins, malt. Well balanced, creamy, full. Very nice beer.
