Rich reddish brown with a thick beige head. Dark dried fruits and bread; caramel. Little bit of anise and toffee with a light balancing bitterness. Medium body with slick alcohol. The aroma isn’t mind blowing but classic Belgian flavors at work.

Bottle from Dranken Pauwels. Colour is clear dark brown with reddish edges and a thin off white head. There’s a few floaty yeast particles in there too. Nose is rich caramel, ripe fruity esters, alcohol, malty, bread, grain husk. Taste is dark fruit esters, prune, raisin, plum, caramel, some bread, rye notes.

330ml Bottle. This pours a thick light tan head over a slightly murky medium brown body. Its aroma is delicious with dark fruits strong on the nose;.Taste wise it is a blast of sweetness that hits you on 1st gulp and it really doesnt give way to much else but a bitter coffee ish finish. Sip it and theres malts chocolate biscuits and yeast in there but again its all masked by an overpowering sweetness. If you want to get blotto and dont really care what a beer tastes like this one is for you. If you want to experience an evening of tasting fine beers - try another one.

Medium brown to mokka head, blackish with a red glow colour, sweet caramel and some liquorise and some alcohol notes, gentle caramel sweet medium to high carbonation, coffee like medium bitter, creamy

Deep dark-red colour, hazy, beige head that doesn?t last. Aroma and taste get dried fruits like plums and raisins, spices like clove and nutmeg, liquorice, a bit bitter and grainy sweet malts. Balanced and round. Aftertaste is a bit dry, quickly gone. Disappointingly thin bodied, medium-low carbonation.

Good example of Belgian craftmanship. Yeasty, fruity, malty and hoppy. (aroma hops)

Bu avec date limite dépassée de 2 mois. La bière a très mal vieillie, perte d’odeur et de gout. A boire jeune donc.

Private import from the SAQ. Pours a hazy dark amber colour with lots of active carbonation of small bubbles. The head is creamy, becoming frothy and bubbly, lightly beige, with good retention and some foamy lace. Sour nose at first with a little chocolate, but then, aromas of toffee, raisins, other fruits and hints of anise (and other grass). The taste is pretty strong with metallic notes which gives out grassy hop and rusty water. The fruits does come out eventually and thankfully the finish is better and soft. Lots going on in this one, but not one I would buy more. Worth trying though.

Pours a dark amber with a inch of white head. Nose is full of caramel and toffee. Nice plums, prunes on the nose with a good pinch of spice. The finish is a bit spicy and warm on the finish. Nice fruity and malty overall.
