A complex malty aroma greets you, courtesy of melanoidin-rich Munich and Vienna malts. This style of lager originated in Vienna, Austria, but we use American Sterling hops, which provide a bit of spiciness. An exceptionally well balanced beer from start to finish.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2014 Draft - 16oz tulip pint - Tippe and Drague in Seattle - $5

Clear amber-gold color with a tight head that sticks around. Glowing beer, looks pretty. Aroma tingles the nostrils slightly with a noble hoppiness and a very clean lager backbone. Its super hard to describe a somewhat melanodin aroma, its not really clean caramel but its not not as well. Flavor has a very dry (for a lager) and slightly bitter finish. Tingly hops spread through my cheeks. The majority of the flavor is just clean with a faint caramel lager flavor. Bottom line, clean flavorful, a bit bitter noble hop character that works well.

Olympia Brewers Festival - Golden in color clear with a thin head. Nice malt flavor and finish. Lagers are hard to make so this is very good rendition.

Draft at u er. Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a loose white head. Light stringy lace. Biscuity, slightly chocolatey nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Biscuity, slightly toasty mid palate, long dry finish.

At WA.brewers fest. Smells like cut grass. tastes like an expensive cheap ale. Not good.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Looks great, nice reddish amber color.   Malty and semi-sweet on the tongue.   Does have a bit of mealiness to it though.   Otherwise smooth, a touch chewy.   Clean, finishes with a touch of biscuit and breadiness.   Bigger than most, but has that touch of mealiness that I don’t care for.   Otherwise pretty good for a local Vienna.

Pours a very cloudy and hazy light golden, decent white head and apparent carbonation. DMS, cooked corn, and esthery fruit presence in the nose, some light notes of sweet pils malt and a little bit of spice. Definite fruity flavor up front, slightly sour, and a little grassy. Finish leaves a lingering yeasty flavor, and body is medium-full. A below-average vienna lager beer that has some definite flaws. Cloudy appearance is disheartening.
