3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clean amber with a two finger creamy tan head. Nose is fine out of the gate but becomes taxing. I get some nice citrus and pine notes upfront but that quickly fades to burnt sugar and toast. Just too many competing aromas and too much caramel malt (malt in general).

Pint at Westville Pub. Cloudy Brownish copper. Smells like caramel and toast, then resin. Taste is resiny hops up front, then some caramel malts. Not bad.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Asheville, NC - Bruisin’ Ales - 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy medium orange with a soft, sticky off-white head. Aroma has a solid spruce profile, a hint of vanilla....may have been on the shelf too long. Flavor has some decent citrusy hop bitterness, some caramel sweetness, and a bit of butterscotch (on the shelf too long I suspect). Mouthfeel is thick enough. Not ad considering the wear and tear.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at the brewpub. It poured a hazy bronze color with a tan head. The aroma was of citrus, herbal hops and toffee malts. The taste was of citrus, earth, some resin and pine hops with toffee malts. Nice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to John! Pours a hazy orange brown with a light tan head. The smell is earthy malt, caramel and some grapefruit. The taste is rather malty...perhaps it is an old bottle and without a bottle date it’s hard to tell....some citrus fighting to get out ending crisp and dry. with some lingering bitterness. The body is light/medium with fairly creamy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to John for sharing this! Very smooth and floral nose. The beer starts smooth, floral and intense. Very bitter with hints of caramel and a nice moderate sweetness. As there was no date, I think it is old - it just tastes like there was once much more floral aroma. Very sad. The aftertaste is intense bitter, hoppy with hints of floral remainings, caramel. Nice. 12/12/11/12

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark amber body with a tight, creamy off-white head.
Light malt aroma with some weak hops. The flavor is well balanced lightly bitter.
Reserved IPA. Good but not for hop lovers.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft. Dense, rich lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, with a hint of chocolate too. Flavors of acute tangerine and toast. Sounds simple but balances quite nicely.
