A Western North Carolina take on the West Coast style IPA. Huge citrus hop aromas make this a Hop Head’s dream. Its full body balances well with the bitterness and allows the drinker to enjoy its depth of hop flavors and aromas.

Sorry guys this is more like a hop heads nod. Nice orange grapefruit rind flavors. Some citrus on the tongue. In general seems citrus sour. I wouldn’t call it west coast or even my kind of IPA. Thin head. Average.

Bottle at home. Pours pale to medium amber with nice off-white head. Mild, slightly citrusy, hop aroma with some malt intermingled. Pleasant opening. Light, slightly fruity and tart resolving into nice balance of piney hop and rich malt. Finishes dry and somewhat bitter, certainly not overwhelming in bitterness. The bitterness lingers for a bit. Nice mouthfeel, not too heavy or light. Moderate carbonation, which suits it. Overall, quite a tasty, not-too-in-your-face IPA with good balance between malt and hops. First time drinking a beer from this brewery, and I’m certainly pleased.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Bruisin’ Ales, 1/12/15

Aroma: The nose is lightly resiny, with some floral hops, sweet caramel, and a toasty malts
Appearance: A mostly clear orange color with a thick, frothy off-white/beige head and sticky lace
Flavor: The flavor is fairly malty/sweet, decent bitterness as well, but definitely sweet for the style
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty sticky mouthfeel, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright, rather sweet IPA. Congrats to The Ohio State University, winning so convincingly as the 4th team in with a 3rd string QB in the 2nd round of the 1st college football playoff. Wow. As for the beer... This is decent, but I can’t really give it a higher compliment than that.

Bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Amber pour with a frothy white head and sheets of lace. Grapefruit, white peach and tangerine hop aromas with subtle bready and caramel malt backing. Flavor is similar throughout with lengthy bitterness on the end. No sweetness coming through and well balanced. Solid stuff.

Cloudy amber colour with a small offf-white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma with mild bitterness and sweet maltiness. The flavour is strong hoppy bitterness. Grapefruit and resin. A bit harsh. Sweet maltiness. A bit unbalanced.
