11/27/13. On tap at the brewery. Amber orange pour with a small khaki head. Okay hop aroma, but too mild. Some citrus, more pine and dank/resin type aspects, crackery pale malts and caramel. Mildly hoppy flavor and bitterness, more dank and pine, touches of citrus, biscuits and caramel. Not bad.

Bottle. Caramel color and taste from the malt. Pretty strong base for 6.7%. Upon opening the bottle I got a whiff of the hop aromas I've come to love bit dissipates quickly. Reminds me of red rocket.

Bottle from SAMs. A solid ipa from a new nc brewery. More piney and herbal hop character as oppose to the big tropical and citrus fruity and floral bombs of the recent past. Nicely balanced but I hope future batches showcase the hops a bit more.

aroma was a bit muted, definitely got the hops, but sort of light. apearance was pretty - copper/orange. perhaps a bit darker than i expected but warm an easy to appreciate in the glass. taste was metallic, bright/grassy hops, and some balancing sweetness. nothing to write home about. palate was harsh, i just couldnít get into this one. iíll give benefit of the doubt to the fact that this is a bottle that I didnít open immediately - might be lacking in freshness. Hopefully my shop gets it on draft and I can give it a re-rate.

Pint at brewery. Good aroma. Sweet. Citrusy pine. Hazed brownish orange color. Ok head and lace. Bitter flavor. Medium body. Creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Good. Hate when "west coast" is referenced.but solid enough. Big bitter finish and flavor. Aroma little more diverse.

12 oz bottle. Hazy medium amber color with an ivory frothy head. Aroma of citrus and pine malts. Palate is hit with a bomb of pine up front and then followed by a nice caramel backbone. Nothing real exciting, but better than most I tried while in Asheville.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy bronze color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus and herbal hops and toffee malts. The taste is citrus, earth, resin, pine hops with toffee malts. The hops are quite bitter. Medium bodied.
