thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Pale golden with a stable, white head. Piney hop aroma. Good bitter flavours with a hoppy punch. A very good pilsener. TimE (1037), Tokyo, Japan Sep 19, 2007 Way too pale, way too few hops and way too grassy for me. Disappointed. Tasted at Yokohama GJBF MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 26, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Herbaceous hop nobility dignifies the honeyed hay in this well-malted, balanced and fruity Pilsener.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A simple veil of foam covers the golden gown.
-Herbal hops linger politely.
-A pale fruitiness recalls gooseberries.
-The soft effervescence lets the malts display their full competency.
-Overall, you could say it lacks crispness to really stand out, as well as a more engaging aroma, bit it remains a good version of the style.
Can; best before July 31st (had on June 25th). larsga (2319), Oslo, Norway Apr 22, 2007 Small offwhite head. Slightly hazy yellow body. Light musty aroma of spice and acidity. Taste is bitter resin, somewhat acidic, with paper notes. Thin, chalky mouthfeel. Acidic citric paper aftertaste. Not really very successful. (0.5l bottle.) jdjuice (202), Japan Aug 5, 2006 Can (eek) in Takayama. Good Saaz hops but without the dryness that I like in a pilsner. Also had a strange sake-like sourness to it that was kind of strange... Ok, but not worth the pretty ridiculous prices in Takayama.
