COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Known in Greek Mythology as "necter of the gods," mead became the exclusive drink of royalty. Our King’s Mead captures all the qualities that inspired centuries of poetry, legend, and song. This traditional style mead is made using modern and old methods. The honey is in the forefront. Though this mead is called honey wine, this honey mead reminds you the least of wine. This mead is Hidden Legend Winery’s version of man’s oldest drink. Buy this mead and enjoy a taste of history.

Bottle. Light pour, honey aroma, nothing special. Taste is, to me, pretty basic, but also on the sweet side, and more than I really prefer. Easy to drink, but just too sweet. I would opt for others this meadowy.

Bottle poured into a belgian tulip glass. Pours a clear, pale yellow. No carbonation. The aroma is dry, floral honey. I pick up a lot on the alcohol while it’s cold. As it warms though, it starts to become more honey like in character. It gets fairly sweet and that sweetness lingers on the tongue. I found myself enjoying this mead more toward the end of my glass than at the beginning. I’m not sure if that was the alcohol speaking, or if it is just better served closer to room temperature. Either way, i want to try some of their other meads despite my friend telling me that this one was the best of the one’s distributed in the area.

Bottle at Blippsmas! Pours a clear gold. Smells of honey and a touch of plastic fruit. Quite sweet, lots of honey, candy. Cloyingly sweet, honey, a bit plastic. Decent but too sweet for me.

onceblind (4112) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 18, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Crystal clear light gold, still. Aroma was sweet and slightly citric honey. Flavor was of honey syrup and light orange zest notes blending into a dry honeywax yet smooth sweetness followed by a slight clove tone. Pretty standard yet pretty complex and delicious. Not too sweet, definitely not bland.
