I detected a wisp of something out of the ordinary, almost Brettanomyces like. I liked it but I am unsure if it was supposed to be there? omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 21, 2007 Cask at Black Door, Helsinki. Mahogany colour. Light coffee aroma. Medium sweet and lightly roasty with notes of coffee with cream as well as lemon. Medium bodied with bol mouthfeel. Finishes with medium bitterness. Pretty average cask bitter. Brown, as ale should be, with a loose head. Non-descript beery aroma. However, lovely milk and bitter mouthfeel. Full malty taste, bitter hazelnut tones. Finish is malty nutty and long. Mes_and_Sim (4465), Highgate, Greater London, England May 7, 2007 A Sim rate (cask up the Junction): Better than most of the beers I’ve had tonight. Tastes like red wine and hard liquor but a nicer mix that doesn’t make you sick. Some apple in there too. Smells fruity and malty. Quite nice.
