May 19, 2008 Draft @ Brewpub: This pours a pitch black just as described. However, it was way too sweet. I couldn’t get past the sweetness.

Aug 25, 2007 Their best dark brew! Lots of roasted malt aroma and flavor. Medium body. Not as sweet as many imperial stouts!

Feb 8, 2006 on tap at HIdeout; black body with small medium brown head...aroma and flavor are the same (intensely roasted, almost burnt, malts); harsh rye notes and an all too bitter aftertaste...nice palate

Feb 6, 2006 On tap at Hideout. Deep opaque black-brown body, thin light tan head. Charred malt aroma with hints of licorice. Bitter, roasted, charred body, astringent and palate-crushing. Hints of spicy fruit in the finish. Strong alcohol notes. The alcohol and charred malts kill the other flavors that attempt to develop, leaving a lingering disappointment on the palate. Thankfully this was the night-cap.
