BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2008 2008 MBG Winter Fest: Deep brown with a minimal head, oily appearance. The aroma displays oats, chocolate, charred and roasted malt, coffee, plum and anise esters. The taste starts with twangy fruit, mocha and vanilla with some grassy hops in support. Some peppery and liquorice spice upon the finish. The mouth feel is thin and oily, weak compared to the flavor. Just an okay beer, nothing to seek out. aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA Jan 15, 2007 Very nice, timid, oatmeal stout. Smooth, not remotely thick...but smooth. Easy flavor of subtle hops, chocolate malts. VERY similar to the porter, but could taste this one better....
