Oct 19, 2007 GABF ’07. Pours black with an average, rocky, light brown head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (toasted grain, chocolate, coffee), average hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, leather) with notes of charcoal. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Sep 24, 2007 On draft @ Sunset Grill with the Mad_Indian. Pours dark with an average size tan head. Aroma of roast, smoke, peat, and mild traces of hops to the nose. The flavor is smooth, roast, slight chocolate, peat, and some smokiness.

Sep 23, 2007 Sampled with Stegosaurus during our second Boston Tour. Served at Sunset Grill. Black pour roasty aroma and a mild hop kick. It was just okay for me.

Sep 18, 2007 On tap at Bruxellensis. Black body and tan head. Apparently it’s a choc stout. Tarry aroma, some choc. It’s a pretty tarry charcoally stout. Nice intense bits. Too thin in the the mouth though.
