Commercial Description:
Beer of the Gods is an unusual blend of styles from Old Germany. We’ve taken the pale Pilsner malt used for Cologne’s famed Kölsch style and loads of spicy noble hops used in the best Altbier from nearby Dusseldorf. And we’ve topped it off with a liberal dose of extra aroma hops during a lengthy lagering stage. The result? An American beer that blends the best of two old world classics: a beer as drinkable as the very best Kölsch that satisfies like a supreme Altbier. Think of it as a German-style Farmhouse Ale. Beer of the Gods is, of course, unpasteurized and unfiltered. Alcohol content is 4.9%.

The aroma is malty and yeasty with grassy hops. The appearance is pale gold with a foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bit of astringency. The palate is what I expect from the style. Overall a decent beer but not one I would rave about.

Great name. Ok beer. On tap at Deep Ellum on a trip to boston for my cousin’s wedding. Light and great for summer with a lemon citrus flavor. Grassy hay aroma. Light yellow color and big white head. Slightly toasted grain and corn flavor.

Appearance is banana yellow with a thick, fluffy head. Cloudy, with lots of tiny carbonation bubbles floating up. Looks like a hefeweizen. Smells of a mild pilsner. Mildly bitter hops, but also a spicy Belgianish orange peel. Smell is weak. Mix between Belgian ale and mild pils. Bitterish hops but a stale, musty taste, as if it sat in the cellar too long. Has a dry mahogany flavor. Has an ashtray taste. Dry and ashy. Has a dry afterfeel. An ashy, bitter hefeweizen. It’s a confused beer and not in a great way.

at the first fresh sip it brings and hard bitter of pine. after a minutes of breathing it mellows out a little and makes a quite drinkable beer. the malts are hops are very balance with a touch of floral and lots of pine.

Bottle… Hazy, light amber ale with a small, dense, white head. Good retention. Fruity, lightly spicy aroma – mainly apricot, peach and a pinch of clove. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Fruity and sweet, but balanced nicely by a clove phenol and a reserved, but nice, hop component. Minerally, watery, bland finish.

Bomber. Pours a hazy golden hue with a massive, lasting, snow white head of rocky foam. Sticky, cloud-like lacing coats the glass in clumps. The aroma is light and creamy, notes of clean blonde malt accompanied by zesty lemon rind and estery, ethereal bread yeast. Flavors are similarly structured, airy citrus chiffon and peppery lemon contrasting nicely, with a nice amount of grassy hoppiness and a dry, yeasty finish. Medium to light in body, the palate is easy going and quaffable. This is a very solid session brew, nice for a hot summer day.

Bottle. Very cloudy golden pour with white head that becomes spotty. Sweet citrus aroma. Flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma would make you think, malt flavor, yeast, slight chewy hop note and spices. Alright but far from a godly beer. Decent when fresh only about a month after bottling.

Pours a hazy yellow. Nose is crisp citrus, lemon, sour orange, mild grain and yeast. Flavor is a sharp tannin, mild citrus, yeast, some grassiness. Very very drinkable. I can see sitting out by the pool with this and I appreciate the unfiltered qualities.
