Commercial Description:
Beer of the Gods is an unusual blend of styles from Old Germany. We’ve taken the pale Pilsner malt used for Cologne’s famed Kölsch style and loads of spicy noble hops used in the best Altbier from nearby Dusseldorf. And we’ve topped it off with a liberal dose of extra aroma hops during a lengthy lagering stage. The result? An American beer that blends the best of two old world classics: a beer as drinkable as the very best Kölsch that satisfies like a supreme Altbier. Think of it as a German-style Farmhouse Ale. Beer of the Gods is, of course, unpasteurized and unfiltered. Alcohol content is 4.9%.

First drain pour in a while. Even 3 people couldn’t finish this mess. Taste like dirty moss with some rice sweetness.

Peppery citrusy hoppy nose, dry and earthy taste with a long finish. No alarms and no surprises but a decent beer nonetheless.

on tap @Philly BeerFest III–pours a white head and hazy straw color. Aroma is light malt, spice hops. Taste is sweet light malt, jelly bean, that clashes with the spice/lemon hops. MEH.

2009-03-13. Lightly hazy yellow, small white head. Modest aroma, light grassy hops with a touch of spice? Flavour is likewise hoppy, grassy, light fruit throughout. (6+) Average to thin palate. Quaffable. Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

A great session brew. There is so much flavor and a great refreshing taste to this low gravity beer. I will definitely be looking to try the rest of the High & Mighty collection.

Spicy fruity nose, pineapple, sage, rosemary, with hints of citrus. Pours coudy golden with a thin white head that dissipates. Fruity, herbal, earthy favors, pineapple upfront, with a dry hoppy, spicy finish. A lot going on for a lower gravity beer, a wonderful session beer!

Clear golden coloured body with light orange tints and a thinnish white head atop the beer that stays nicely. Aroma of malt, lemons, light hops, alcohol and even some sage. Light-bodied; Sharp hop flavour with citrus twangs running throughout, along with a potent maltiness and even some soapy qualities. Aftertaste shows more of the citrus qualities than anything else, but also the malt and alcohol is noticealbe. Overall, a nice lager - great to try and a good sample from all available. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s in Albany, New York on 13 January 2007.
