Commercial Description:
Beer of the Gods is an unusual blend of styles from Old Germany. We’ve taken the pale Pilsner malt used for Cologne’s famed Kölsch style and loads of spicy noble hops used in the best Altbier from nearby Dusseldorf. And we’ve topped it off with a liberal dose of extra aroma hops during a lengthy lagering stage. The result? An American beer that blends the best of two old world classics: a beer as drinkable as the very best Kölsch that satisfies like a supreme Altbier. Think of it as a German-style Farmhouse Ale. Beer of the Gods is, of course, unpasteurized and unfiltered. Alcohol content is 4.9%.

On tap at Novare Res. Pours a yellow golden with a thin white head. Nose of hops and other grassy, citrus scents. Flavor is similar to other Kolsch style beers i’ve had, but with a hop punch. It’s clean crisp and has a nice hop profile, almost like an APA. Lovely!

courtesy of jdubfl. Pours golden, white head. Aroma is champagny, white grape, and notes of citrus. Taste, light bitter citrus hops, some fruits, grainy, and white grape. Update - getting more lemon zest, hints of hops, bottle showing 4.5% mild citrus palate with hints of apple and grass.

0,5 l bottle bought at Citymarket Sello. Golden color with good head. Aroma is slightly stale with touches of egg, not perhaps the best possible batch? The taste, however, is very nice with good hoppy bitterness. I´ll have to buy another one to check the nose, though.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Almost clear, pale amber color. Hoppy nose. Strong carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is unremarkable just some hops. Piney aftertaste. $5.50 for a 22oz bottle from Tullys Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Bottle. Pours gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma has herbal hoppy notes and well as lemony and yeasty notes. Lightly sour citric flavor. A little rough around the edges.

Thanks to Tom for the bottle. In the glass this is a wonderful clear blond brew with a rich frothy white head. Great carbonation. The nose is full of big herbs - juniper, rosemary, heather and thyme - with some lemon, pine, apples, pears, cloves, and pepper. Great refreshing taste with light fruit, spice, honey, herbal and floral notes. Dry, spicy finish with a great hop taste that lingers forever. Perfectly balanced, dangerously drinkable, and hugely appealing, this brew is really something special. Not just for the geeks. This is a very well done beer.

A 0.5L bottle from S-market. A white head. Hazy pale yellow colour. Slightly sour and hoppy taste. Also some grapefruit aromas.
